This video is a comparison between the stock exhaust and the Vance & Hines Twin Slash 3" Slip ons on my 2019 Harley Davidson Iron 1200. What a difference Vance & Hines is incredible!!!
Going to roll my 2019 Iron 883 out of the garage on april 1st. I have the exact same slip ons hence me watching the video. The bike sounds amazing! the awesome thing about the Harley sound is that I don't "need" to rev my bike to make it sound good. I can't get enough of that "out-of-sync" idle with the Twin Slash. Descelleration sounds killer as well, lots of babbling without the crazy descell popping :D Can't wait to hear my bike in person in 3 weeks time :D Grats on the new exhaust! Hi Carl - Question re your exhaust..did you contemplate the V&H twin slash slip ons vs the short shots? If you did, why did you choose the slip ons? I am thinking if I go with the twin slash slip ons...I may also purchase the buckshot heat shields. Be safe and look forward to your next video!
I didn’t think the sound was to much different and it is a lot less work. I also like the look of the longer pipes. I do agree the buckshots look cool!!!!

Good video. I just ordered them for my new low rider s. Seems like a good choice. Stock exhaust are too quiet, love my bike, but it sounds like a vespa coming down the road now. Haha

GodsDuality I love it but it is not the best for longer trips. I would love to put a second bike in my garage for that!!! I was only going to ride around town but since I started riding again Its all I think about and do
@@MotorcyclingwithCarl gotcha. Ya i love this low rider s. The power is crazy. But i have to do a few things to it to make it more comfortable for longer trips too
When I first did the slip ons I did not tune. When I added the Hi-Flo air filter I added the FP3 fuelpak and tunned it. My Harley dealership said no tune needed just with slipons but if you do the air cleaner it’s needed. Just ask your dealer
@@MotorcyclingwithCarl ok cool cause I still have a 3 year warranty I recently bought the bike new and just bought the same exhaust as u i was gonna add the vance and hines fp3 but heard it voids warranty ??? Does harley do the tunes if I purchase the slip on and hi airflow
@@Exeaxity Yes everything I heard is that the FP3 will void the warranty on the engine. But not sure exactly what parts it voids. I rolled the dice and am taking the risk I only have a 2 year warranty thats over in April. I would talk to your dealership they probably do but like everything else get your wallet out. I would have considered the screaming eagle tuner that doesn’t void your warranty but its not Mac compatible and doesn’t work with your smartphone you need to hook up a laptop. Best suggestion check with your dealer. Come back and let me know what they say and what it costs if you look into it. By the way the slip ons make the bike sound awesome you will love them. You’re bike will actually sound like a Harley

I have a 2018 Sportster 48 and purchased V&H slip-ons, but they've not been installed because I haven't decided on how to go about adding a tuner. The easy way would be to go to a Harley dealer and have them install a Screaming Eagle tuner to go with the slip-ons or get an FP3, but would need to find someone to program it. My question: when you had the slip-ons without the tuner, how did your Harley sound? Was there decel "popping?"
That is a very cool looking color. I stopped by the dealership to try and see one but they didn’t have any. I will try to find a part# for you when I get to my computer tomorrow and l will comment it to this thread.
I am not a Harley Mechanic but my dealer told me if you only put the slip ons on the bike you do not need to tune o2 sensors can compensate. But if you put a high flow air filter you will have to tune. I ran my bike with just the slip ons and no tuner. It was fine just a little decel pop. When I put the high flow filter on I bought the tuner.
@@MotorcyclingwithCarl Thanks for the feedback. I tried the York Shorty slip ons, hated them. The sound was too loud and awful. Hoping these will be better.
Mine did not come with baffles but I believe you can order them with baffles. And yes they are louder without the baffles. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@bryancardenas-qs4ig I definitely can’t hear the sound in my Bluetooth helmet very well lol. I do love the sound and days when I need a bit of quiet I take my Yamaha out.
I Found the Install to be pretty simple. If you have the tools and some mechanical abilities I think you should be Ok. Thanks for watching and commenting.
