I purchased an old house in 1996. The house was built in 1924. It has one of these installed in a countertop. Has drawings of game birds (pheasant, qail, doves, ect) on it. I love it and use it regularly. If i ever sell the house I'm taking it with me.

We moved into our current house with one of these and I swore I was going to tear it out… then we started using it and decided that when we remodel the kitchen we are definitely getting another inset cutting board like this ( game plan for 2 years from now ish) Well!!! Last night ours broke, it was a loud pop then from there it sounded like Rice Krispies, the snap crackle and pop sounds for about 20 minutes after the initial break. Still don’t know what caused it to break other than it happened right when I sneezed lol! But seriously nothing was even touching it!!!! So yeah now I’m on the hunt to buy a new one!

oh my gosh! I have never heard one break! We have had these since I was a baby. Probably be easiest to find at a second hand store or salvation army etc. They come in all shapes and sizes and the glass insert is the same if it is the in counter or on the counter kind.

I use it whenever I need a cutting board. Yes they still make these although they are not cheap. about 175 on amazon. The non built in cutting board is much cheaper.
