Muzikant Vanessa Carlton vertelt wat het hebben van een hit op jonge leeftijd (A Thousand Miles) met je doet, en hoe ze haar verdere carrière heeft ingericht. Een interview uit 2021.
The seeming nonchalance is what makes her song so good. (As if she had been singing it for years before she dropped the song.) (And the compression of the end result)
The fact that this interview is all about her journey in creating her own career and art, and not at all about the hit we all know, shows how strong and determined she is in carving her own path. She is very much in control, I really respect her for that.
I've never seen what she looked like until now. I listened to music sometimes. But my parents blocked MTV when I was growing up, lol. I love this series of videos. Fills in a lot of blanks.
She actually did have another song that was in heavy rotation called Ordinary Day that was pretty great as well. Didn't quite hit the heights of A Thousand Miles though.
@@formaltaliti A Thousand Miles is the most beautiful piano piece I have ever heard and it is my favourite song. She has other nice songs too I wouldn't call her a one hit wonder. That sounds a bit negative.
I like the magic atmosphere of reverb and it’s suits the type of music and mood She wants to make. This channel has uploaded a dry version of A Thousand Miles from this session, as well though.
