Huge respect for what she did here. Poker players tend to not be the best public speakers, because of the very introverted nature of the job, but she did a great job! You get the equivavalent of 3/4 of a poker book in a free youtube video in under 40 mins. The internet is god's gift to the poker community...

Great content, great presentation. I'll watch it again. Most poker videos over 5 minutes put you to sleep. Not this one. I think the hype about Vanesa might be true.
Everyone hates on Vanessa because supposedly everyone else does. Hop off the bandwagon and give Vanessa the credit she deserves. She is giving us extremely valuable information and people choose to write negative comments about her. Fucking followers.
Vanessa's only weakness is the she tends to play live poker the same way she would play online....Like 5 bet bluffs and stuff like that. If you get 4 bet in live poke 99% of the time they aren't bluffing where as online it's like 50/50 or 60/40 for example....
One of the reasons for what I respect so much "this guy" is because "this guy" don't fucking cares at all about what some idiots think about her. She thinks for hereself and bend the idiots that are more interested in look like a "poker player" that in the game. Yes, I like her a lot. By the way, GREAT STUFF.

'fold to 2 barrels" in her world perhaps, in ours they shove with Q high flush draw if they think you will call! jsut too many donks, they call with 2 outs or even 1 out and HIT! despite her ADD a good presnetation overall.

It's not because that she's a female. THere's been plenty of female players who people do not hate. The reason for the hate of Vanessa has always been her attitude.
She's terrible. She is just part of the era of poker that happened before people learned how to play properly. She would fail to win even at 20 cent big blinds online now.
I'm sorry, but I do not see image as a valid poker ploy. Most of the most unpleasant players I've seen (including Vanessa) are the ones who consider their image. Look at all the nice top celebrity players like DNegs, Doyle, Ivey, Tony G, Laak, Corren, Bouree, etc. They seem like open honest people, happy in themselves. Sorry, but I would never take any advice from Vanessa Selbst about image!
