This song is special to me because my wife had stage 4 cervical cancer and she was declining the cancer spread to her spine and was getting weak to walk and stand so she told me before it gets worse she wanted to go out and dance with me but she couldn't do this song played on the radio so I asked her to dance to this song I held her close it was an amazing dance like a fairy tale dance that dance meant the world to us both a few days later she was unable to walk or stand she passed away a few weeks later she was 36 left behind 6 children my highschool sweetheart she's been gone 9 years wow love this song
Recently started listening to 90's music. Dang, the tunes were so much richer with melodies and lyrics that MEANT SOMETHING ! In today's music, it's all about the hook with practically no emphasis on words or meaning. It's really quite SAD how music has changed so much. Being a Gen X'er, I really wish to have been born one or two decades earlier to enjoy music from a generation that placed more values on melody and words. Vanessa's performance here is a perfect example.
That Comfort Zone album of hers is a classic ! Every song a bonafide hit. Nominated for 7 Grammys that year and she went home empty-handed. Vanessa was ripped off by the Grammys !
One time I was in a Sears Store in Oxnard and they had this song playing on a Wurlitzer Jukebox. It sounded So beautiful that I felt goosebumps all over my body. I had to stand there and listen to the whole song. Absolutely incredible.

Comfort Zone is an incredible CD. I was in HS when it first came out and every day when I came him from school, I played that CD FIRST. This song, Save the Best for Last. Comfort Zone. Better Off Now. What will I tell my heart. Work to Do. Great album. I even call it a classic. And I don't say these kinds of things often.
Vanessa can sang!!! OMG I love her voice. One of my favorite songs by her. They do not make music like this anymore. We have electronic sounds from thin voices and singers who cannot stay on pitch. Brava, Vanessa!

Vanessa Williams can sing, act and dance....no too mention she exudes grace, class and glamour.....the woman is beautiful and IF you saw her in person you would just gush at how incredible she looks for 46......she will always be the premier Miss America to the black community because we never gave up on her and God didnt either....with her talent....

I still have this on a VHS tape collection of Vanessa's videos from "The Comfort Zone". I always preferred this hard-to-find single mix to the album version. Nevertheless, it's still an affecting song that brings me close to tears.

You don't find women like her anymore despite the scandal because of her nude pictures which got her crown taken from her & because black people from the South didn't think she was black enough to be Miss America she still kept on going. She maintained her dignity & rose to become an actress, singer , wife, mother etc Vanessa is one of a kind.
Us black people up North knew she was black and only saw black. We loved the different shades of brown unlike South. We couldn't stand them at all. The only difference between them and racist white was the laws and ruling the whites had. Both can go to hell to me. Some hated on Kenya Moore and she's dark!! But since she had long hair and keen features smdh.
This woman can sing! Somehow I happened on to her album Right Stuff and I play from beginning to end. Not many musicians do I just put in and go and love every song. Versatile! Hot! And I got one of her Christmas CDs (albums in my world) and it was awesome too! Love her voice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
