'92 Velvet Knights is one of the greatest drum corps shows of all time. The production takes icons of every sort, from myths, from storybooks and even drum corps itself, and mixes them together. By the end, the audience response proves that we are inextricably tied to our cultural icons, and tied to our need for satire. A brilliant and buoyant show. Every single performer knew what they were performing and why. A completely authentic message delivered by master showmen with a singular sense of purpose. This is an example of the performer becoming one with his material.

Yep. Second year of DCI, second year Vanguard went to Finals, first year Vanguard won, lots of fun stuff.

But they're VK, so that's okay, I guess.

Mistakes happen in drum corps shows all the time. Even Blue Devils 2014 had a few hiccups in their show. After their beginning trumpet feature, the low brass have a quieter part coming between the platforms and then it leads into a jazz run and then the opener is over. Well in that section one of the members in the front run stepped off a count early into the jazz run.

Yikes! Probably the worst ensemble tear in DCI history, although ‘96 Cadets is up there. 🤦🏻‍♂️

It’s just because back then colorguards were almost always only women, and it would be incredibly hard to play a brass instrument while doing that dance, and drums couldn’t properly do the dance either because their drums would be in the way.
