Probably the most intensely beautiful woman that ever existed!!! Perfection! Her eyes, cheekbones, nose, mouth, body, even her brows...every part of her is perfect & breathtaking. She's like a drawing of the perfect woman, come to life.

I got to know her right before she died. I talked to her on the phone like two months before she passed and we talked for like an hour and she was the cutest sweetest soul/spirit. She prayed with me on the phone and I really needed it that night. it was so awesome. We played phone tag a lot. She told me to call her whenever and I was planning to check on her and then she passed :( She used to hold a group prayer and church service on Friday mornings. A big conference call. So amazing. She was all about GOD and JESUS and she was HILARIOUS too. So funny. I wish more people knew that. I am sooooo thankful to GOD that I was able to meet her before she passed.
The only thing more beautiful than her face and body was her soul. A wellspring of love and light even in her darkest of times. R.I.P. Denise Matthews ❤
It’s funny to watch these old interviews with her and to see every guy on those sets who are on camera are just enamored by her beauty. Practically getting googlied eyed by her presence. She was really something to look at and admire.
she said she hated her life when she was just "Vanity", a plaything for men. She gave her life to God and then shared her story of sexual abuse as a kid and as an adult. She got free from the "You are just a beautiful women-sexy thing" image. She was and always will be gorgeous but got the revelation she was made for more than that. So wonderful
On one occasion Prince mentioned that Vanity could be hard to handle and get away with things no one else ever could with him because "she knew she was the finest woman in the world" .. well said Prince :) speaking from experience no doubt, you were a very lucky man. He dedicated 'The Beautiful Ones' and 'Little Red Corvette' to her in Melbourne, Australia, when he performed his Piano & A Microphone show in February within hours of finding out about her passing away. He also changed lyrics to Vanity and Denise in several songs. Class act.
When he said I that I freaked the fuck out. They were everything together. I adore both of them so much. He still revered her as the finest woman in the world...even though he had assortment of beauties with and around him throughout his whole life and career. They are my loves. They are soulmates and they always were. R.I.P. Denise and Princey...rest together now in eternal heaven.
She was also doing drugs though and Prince didn't want her around unless she got off and he wasn't going to pay her to feed her drug habit...so that's partially why she left as well.

During the last song which was Adore he said "Can I tell you a story about Vanity .. or shall I tell you a story about Denise? Her and I used to love one another deeply .. she loved me for the artist I was, and I loved her for the artist she was trying to be .. and as much as we loved, we used to fight. She was very headstrong, because she knew that she was the finest woman in the world .. and she never missed an opportunity to tell you that as well! Back then I used to have a best friend, security guard, whose name was Chick, and Chick was six foot six and all muscle .. except for his stomach, where he kept an assortment of fried foods. One day Vanity and I got into a fight, and I told her that if she didn't stop I was gonna throw her in the pool .. and she said "You can't throw me in the pool, you're too little" .. so I said "Chick, throw her in the pool" .. I probably shouldn't be telling that story, but I'm sure she would want us to celebrate her life, and not mourn her."
Ugh, that was everything. I saw the full video of it...I was like damn boy. Girlfriend got him invested for life. They were everything that was beautiful to me. I truly believe that they were soulmates.

I believe she was probably one of the Most Beautiful women to have ever lived! Hands down! She was striking! And Prince never got over her! Beautiful but intensely complicated! Had a father that used to beat her up which caused a ton of problems for her.
I loved Vanity so beautiful and talented. I am glad she changed her life. God really wanted his masterpiece child. All that matters is she made it to heaven.
Met her when I was working for Safeway in West Hollywood, super beautiful. She came in and ask where was the rubbing alcohol and I went with her to get it. She was not about to wait in line so she asked if she can get in front because she one item. Always wonder what she needed the rubbing alcohol late at night..this was 1987. Miss those days.

It wasn't just her outward appearance...it was everything about her. There was a little bit of a Marilyn Monroe redux thing going on with her. I actually got to see her a couple times in NYC clubs, streaking to VIP sections with Prince. Both times, it was almost as if she was protecting him. She was completely quiet...none of the "bubbly, Marilyn Monroe-y" stuff she does on these late night TV shows. We called her the Pheromone Queen :-)
LOVED me Vanity when I was a kid!!! What a stunningly gorgeous Black goddess!! Prince said she KNEW that she was the finest woman in the world. That she never failed to remind him of that. Too bad he didn't listen! She genuinely loved him but he was too wrapped up in God knows what to appreciate her when she was in his life. I do believe that they were soulmates. He died just 2 months after her. Poor Prince, he couldn't live with her but didn't want to live in a world without her. 😢 .😭 R.I.H. Vanity!!!

I have known a lot of beautiful women. They all seem to say that. I remember one young woman who wished she looked like britney spears. Britney had nothing on her. Everything about her was perfect. The way she moved, spoke, her personality. I think almost any woman can be their own britney if they wanted to.

Just stunning! I believe she was trying to live up to an image here...an image she really didn't want, I later learned. She has stated that she never wanted the overtly-sexualized image, nor did she like the name Vanity, but she was pressured to adopt both. I also learned that she had a really-well-developed sense of humor. She comes off a little awkward here...I believe it's because she is really not feeling the image she's trying to project...
She was stunning! I think the only other women that could be placed in the same category of beauty would have been Gia Carangi. I’m glad Vanity got her life right with the Lord. Someday I’ll meet her!
At the end of the show Johnny asked her where are you heading from here and she said back home, then lightly asked you coming? I don't think Johnny caught that but that would have been an offer to jump on for sure if she was serious.
