I know it sounds like an absolute conspiracy but it's the UAE paying it off isn't it. Plus the fact that London UK is basically a Muslim place now. Its not even, there could be bigger things out there
Not sure how that changes anything. The fans in the ground are more aware of things sure, but how does it alter wether it’s right or wrong? Plus, NFL is already a much more stop/start. Do you want football to be like that
Totally agree. When you have a culture that leads refs to ignoring blatant on field mistakes because they don’t want to make their on field buddies look bad that culture is rotten. PGMOL are the problem not VAR.
This is exactly why the likes of Goldbridge are so popular. Carra and Nev are friendly with players, managers and refs, so don’t say what we all fell because they know them. Independent creators like Goldbridge have no allegiances so can speak honestly.

Not a fan of yours, but that was absolutely brilliant. Coventry’s winner wasn’t as the result of a clear and obvious error, so what was VAR doing? Very sinister.

@@glfirst4247 yeah, you can't claim something wasn't offside "enough" to reverse. A better move would be to get rid of the clear and obvious threshold all together. Put it to a vote in the VAR room, if 2 of em disagree with the ref, send him to the monitor. That way everyone gets more responsibility, VAR can't hide behind clear and obvious, and we get to learn what the ref actually thinks by sending him to the monitor
The state of the Everton v Forest game was a joke. Absolutely no issue with what Forest said, if anything they are spot on, and they are actually saying what everyone is thinking. That was one of the worst refereeing performances I’ve seen. Forget VAR for a minute, how has Anthony Taylor not given at least 2 of those penalties on the field. Stuart Attwell on VAR needs seriously looking at, a Luton fan with 3 of the most biased, blatant incorrect decisions you’ll see. The PGMOL are a complete joke.
Even if it's not corrupt or biased, why on earth have the PGMOL got themselves into a position where this can even happen? They're already under scrutiny due to their complete incompetence when it comes to decisions being made, putting a rival fan on VAR duty would be questioned regardless of in game decisions, but now that we've seen that farce unfold it's either corruption or complete negligence. Needs a complete overhaul from top to bottom
Nah - suck it up, was that not what LFC were told, unfortunately while I agree with what you have said, you only shout when its your team, should have stuck with LFC who would still be 6 points clear at the top but for poor decisions by PGMOL.

Massive respect to you for calling out the Coventry winner. Yesterday was the day I emotionally backed away from football forever. The days of a club and their fans going wild following a last-minute winner are over and so the soul of the sport is dead. That goal yesterday should have stood despite the lines. If you need a ****ing ruler, the on field season should stand. I'm so sad about it, so gutted, and I'm not even a Coventry fan.
Imagine going to a restaurant, being served food and telling the manager "this chicken is not cooked", he ignores you and forces you to eat it, only for you to get food poisoning the next day. You come out the next day and say you warned the company, they forced you to eat it, and now you're in the mud. And then big name chefs around the world come out and say you're embarrassing and it's not the company's fault. This is what we're dealing with. They're all in bed with each other
This also applies well to governments. Most specifically, the US and UK. Funny how that works. It's almost like they don't exist to serve the people that employ them and they certainly don't care.
Mark, Liverpool supporter here. I listen to you every week. It's great to hear someone actually talking the truth about what is going on. At least you have some balls. There has been far too much going wrong this season and it is making me hate the game, and I never thought I'd be saying that. Everything smells corruption and cheating in my opinion. The referee's association is incompetent.
Those VAR offside lines weren't even straight. They angled in towards Wan Bissaka and then out towards the Coventry player. The players were bang on level. Coventry were cheated hard.
I think they made this decision because they knew the Wan Bissaka handball penalty decision was wrong - trying to make up for it? If so, they are completely controlling our games
Totally agree mark, Pgmol and TV pundits are ruining the sport , these pundits on all stations, MOTD, sky, Tnt etc never mention the 115 charges against Man city and hide behind it , disgraceful....

Utd were terrible and didn't deserve to go through. Coventry were heroic and were denied their just reward. It is inhuman to do what was done to the poor Coventry fans yesterday.
It was a shame for Coventry, but the penalty wasn't a penalty and so Coventry had the chance to win it because of the penalty decision. As a Liverpool supporter we had clubs laughing at us, and making comments about Klopp “crying” when he spoke up for the team after that Spurs game. Now tables have turned and people finally realise how it affects football and how it feels to get robbed when in return just receives an apology to shut us up.

I support none of the teams involved in the semi finals but the first thing I thought in the city game was Chelsea pen for grealish handball and was shocked that wan bissakas was a pen. The refs working in Saudi must be conflict of interest
Its a corruption that could cost a club 200M easily if relegated... in what world can someone being corrupt cost you 200M and you're not supposed to even complain in a public forum?
The issue is how suspiciously this whole thing has played out. Forest warn them about it, then we get a match where at least 2 of those 3 HAVE TO be penalties. Up until that point, I always said that the bad refereeing is gross incompetence rather than corruption. I’m not a fan of Everton or Forest, but that game has pushed me just a little bit closer to believing that bias has played a factor into that game. And the PGMOL very easily could have avoided this from happening if they had taken Forest’s warning seriously. And I commend Forest for coming out and saying what they said, because someone has to say it.
The lack of accountability rages me, these refs and VAR officials can make the most horrendous mistakes and never have to come out and speak about it. It needs to go, Ref overhaul is needed.
@@seb1554 We need an independent panel to run VAR. VAR is looking after the mates because they don't want to make them look bad by over turning their wrong calls. Refs are too scared to make calls because of the possible protection. The whole thing is shambles

I watched after hearing about those pens and I agree with you all 3 I would have given. I'm also sick of the fine margins of the offside rule it's a joke
When I first heard coming of VAR, into the beautiful game, I thought a new era of fairness had been born. Unfortunately, it looks like nothing has changed . We still have human biases deciding who wins and or loses the game. Remember, besides those who have invested their fortune in the game, the common fan has invested her's or his emotions. Let the game be won on the pitch not in the VAR room. Its shameful and scandalous .
You have to feel for coventry if that guys shoe size was one size smaller they’d be in the final! And to be fair they probably have a better chance of beating city than united do
and thats why its a broken rule. For example - if you had Peter Crouch attacking running in line with Kante the last defender - their bodies could be in line with each other but Crouchy stride would reach further forward than Kante because of the clear height difference and longer legs - thus deeming him offside when in reality he is actually in line with Kante. So the rule is biased in favor of shorter players - so its broken.
We do have the same discussions in Germany. I'd be surprised if they weren't the same everywhere. Main arguments are: - it disrupts the flow of the game and the flow of emotions (quite true) - it doesn't put away with grey areas and judgement calls (not the fault of VAR, but of the rules and the nature of the game) - shoddy implementation (sometimes VAR getting active, sometimes not)
@@adambrunt2870 Exactly. The issue isn't VAR, it's this whole stupid "clear and obvious" rule. VAR should be used to check everything and give the correct result, end of.
No, I clearly remember when there was no VAR, and it was terrible. No review of a refs decision and so many errors and influencing the results. During the womens world cup, they explained the VAR decision. Transparency is needed.
Do you remember clearly? Are you sure? Because I remember that there had to be daylight for a player to be given offside, and the rules were interpreted sanely and in the spirit of the game.

Mark Leeds fan here from Greece!! I ve got to say you really impressed me with your insight even though i dont agree with many things you say, so much respect man for calling them out!!!
The only way VAR will ever work is if they completely rework it. In it's current iteration, it is God awful. Football is a sport, it is entertainment, and it is for the fans. VAR adds absolutely nothing to improve the spectacle for the people who pay to watch it. In fact it detracts from the overall enjoyment considerably. Rework it completely, or bin it.
I've been saying from the start when it was 1st introduced that there's corruption involved with VAR. The day will come when a whistle blower comes forward to release evidence that shows some games are getting fixed so teams get vital goals struck off.
It's not VAR, it's the rules the game is played too. The laws of the game are designed for one ref on the pitch and not to be examined at pixel level. Offside for example, the rule is in place to stop attackers just hanging around in the box. It's was never designed to stop an attacker who was a toenail ahead of the defender. VAR should be down to the captain to request a review with limited reviews per half. If the team don't want to question it then the game continues.
Really really appreciating your commentary on all this VAR/PGMOL/corporate media corruption and collusion, Mark. It is so important for the sport to have such an influential voice and major platform speaking truth and asking the right questions on behalf of real fans, without ever holding back. Thank you!

I’m a CFC fan and I have no problem losing to city. We didn’t take our chances. But that was a clear penalty by Grealish. Then we had the Coventry winner wiped off the very next day. The powers that be in football wanted a city\united final and they got it. Can’t afford to,let the big betting scams be jeopardised.
Exactly 👏🏻 they warned PGMOL of what could happen if VAR made questionable decisions. They didn’t say he was corrupt just that it would look dodgy either way ie favoured Everton or Forest.

Coventry fan here, devastated, most ive ever celebrated a goal in my life. Spent the last day desperately looking for copium to show that the goal was clearly offside so i can easily let it go, but ive been seeing the opposite about the lines badly drawn, running over AWB foot etc.
Getting rid of VAR doesn’t improve the fundamental issue. Refereeing in this country is deplorable. VAR with competent refereeing will improve the sport but when you give incompetent referees this tool it just amplifies how dire the situation is.
The problem with VAR is the people who run it not the technology and that is why with VAR or not the mistakes will continue to happen because of the incompetence of these so called professional referees. Remember in the Everton v Forest game VAR or not the referee didn’t give any of the three penalties so whether we keep it or not fans will continue to suffer
@@Fmfcg doesn't take away the fact that liverpool in 2019 was more propabale to win the champions league over city. There is a reason they are the best English side in European competitions.
Said all along - VAR can NOT be used for offsides, people were lied to about that. The technology isn't there - offside involves the combination of two elements (position of players AND moment the pass is initiated) and 60fps video frames can categorically NOT measure that
The missing bit of info is how they determine what it means to call the instant when a pass is initiated. Is that first contact by a boot, or the instant the ball leaves the boot? There are a few microseconds, and a few feet of distance, between those two events. And in those microseconds the line is moved as well. And as we have seen, that is enough to steal a perfectly good goal and lose a team points and ultimately a league title. We need to see two lines. One where they determine initiation. And then a second line drawn at that precise moment showing the defender and attacker's position. I suspect that its the initiation point that we don't see that enables them to manipulate a goal or an offside decision.
Absolutely, Everyone knows Barça's 2nd goal against VARdrid was a CLEAR CRYSTAL goal.. I don't blame the ref, his job and probably his life were on the line .. You don't joke with Perez
That’s weird mate here in North America we don’t have problems with VAR because we got people that know what they are doing just u need better people to run it
The really bad problems with refereeing and VAR have started this season mostly. I don't know what drugs the PGMOL has been taking, but prior to this season it was mostly okay (not great but still acceptable). Even though I think VAR should be scaled back regardless. VAR should just be the automated offside technology
It makes FA more money to have Utd vs City in final. It’ll have more eyes on match. Coventry while would been cool to be in final would get hammered like Luton. So not too surprised to see debatable offside go towards Utd as they bring more eyes to final
Mark, you’re absolutely spot-on. The handball in the Chelsea vs Man City can only be down to sinister reasons. You cannot have the referee and VAR not interpret it as a penalty as every single other person would. And I agree the pundits for no reason cast doubt if it is or it isn’t. Yes, we live in a dictatorship as we do with every other aspect of our lives. We have narcissistic rulers who revel in the power and the ability to control and ignore what the rest of us want or say.
The line was drawn over the man United players foot to make it look offside for the 4th goal. Man United lost that game and the FA couldn’t handle a fairytale ending for the FA cup somehow…..
Fair play Mark, just putting out there what everyone is thinking . Unfortunately football is too subjective as compared to other sports for VAR to work.
