Varenna is a very romantic and suggestive place, overlooking the waters of the Lario. In Lombardy, it is perhaps the most suitable destination if you want to treat yourself to an alternative weekend.
Varenna, just over 700 inhabitants, is a village located in the province of Lecco, about 20 minutes from the city.

The beating heart of the village is its central square, overlooked by the Church of San Giorgio. The building, dating back to the thirteenth century, was built on the foundations of an ancient Roman temple and is a splendid example of medieval Lombard architecture. A few steps away, on the opposite side of the square, we can admire the Church of San Giovanni Battista, dating back to the 11th century. Both religious buildings preserve, inside them, precious frescoes and some pictorial fragments of ancient origins.

Beautiful videos of Lake Como and all of yours I’ve seen! Looking at a house now on Lake Como near Varenna and wonder if towns like Como would be better… warmer, with olive trees and bougainvillea (didn’t see any in these videos) however, Lake Garda seems to have many but Lake Como seems a bit nicer to me. Hoping to find a lot of good international food there. Italy has so many beautiful places that it makes choosing a house very difficult. In your opinion, what is the ideal place for someone who loves lush, green mountains, water, nature, warm weather, good transport and a variety of vegetarian cibo? Difficult question? @@roxythefoxsayfurismurderan3187 ciao and thanks for the comment. Yes, Como lake is very elegant and relaxing, Garda lake is a bit more caotic and commercial on my opinion. I love both lakes. Garda is better for transport and for moving around for sure . Food is super everywhere . The weather is very nice from April to October but of course will not be so warm like the south of Italy. Really depends when you will stay in Italy. For me the sea town are definitely the best, Liguria, costiera amalfitana are amazing . I hope I can help you .

(I’ve been studying un poco Italiano) I was planning to start in Liguria and work my way up through Lake Como but I have also thought a lot about Costiera Amalfitana. Do you think I can find as much vegan food in Calabria as in Lombardia? I’ve heard somewhere that the food in the north of Italia is more vegan friendly. (Spent very little time in the south many years ago) Grazie e ciao!

Italy is so beautiful, blessed with natural resources from God, if they don't have the ocean they have so many lakes. They work hard with their hands to enjoy these gifts from God. The town is beautiful, surrounded by the mountains and you have the lake. The town is way up north and that's why it attracts a lot of tourists from other European countries. I enjoyed the video. Definitely in my bucket list.

Thank you very nice! I think too many Ad though-maybe just at beginning and end? Lots of 'walkers' have no ADs because they have so many views. You film as well as they do except needs to be a bit longer. Just my opinion. I love this little town! SO colorful = feel sunny & happy inside! 😁
