The output of the stove is relatively weak, roughly equal to a Trangia with flame reducer. However, this is exactly the kind of power I am looking for to do one important job - rick cooking/simmering. With one fill it can cook a pot of rice for 2 to perfection in 20 minutes and the best part is I don't even need to tend the stove during cooking. Just light the stove, wait till the flame goes out and it's dinner time!

Love your products. I have many. I also love the concept of this stove. I purchased one recently and it will not bloom. It tries to and ends up blowing itself out which leads me to think the holes could be too small generating a bit too much pressure and blowing the flame out. Is this a common issue on this stove? Should I gently enlarge the holes with a circular file? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

+Robby Brown Thanks, Robby! We glad you like them as much as we do. Due to the larger capacity of the stove itself, it can take longer for the alcohol to heat up and pressurize (compared to a lower capacity alcohol stove), especially if it's cold or it's cold outside. Best thing to do is, before the stove is lit, is to spray some alcohol on the outside of the stove, then light, to help speed up priming. We do not recommend modifying this stove or any of our stoves. Thanks!

+Robby Brown You have to fill the stove with 2 oz. of fuel (it won't bloom with just 1 oz.). The fuel level has to reach past the big hole in the middle of the stove so it will pre heat. Rather annoying I know. You have to drain the excess fuel back into your fuel bottle. Good luck.

Looks great. Does the stove shield take twigs, too?

Yes, it does! The shield is our popular Hexagon Wood Stove. You can find lots of reviews on RU-vid or our official video about it. Cheers.
