Love Varina, my build is focused around discard synergies. Bonemiser is great for generic value but ojertak, kindered discovery and zombie infestation can draw the deck, draw doublers or token doublers allows zombie generation for a combat win or the sculpting of the ideal hand. Lichs mastery, skirge framilure and faith of the devoted double up as another discard focused win condition; while being value pieces in general. With cards like ashnods altar these combos can overlap. Additionally being in white you have access to dance of the mance, open the vaults and replenish. Zombie combos i cut to maintain a steamline madness storm build include, gravecrawler, pitiless plunderer, rooftop storm, altar of dementia, blasting station, wilhelt the rotcleft, poppet factory, liliana, shambling ghast and acerak. Zombies have so many oveapping combos its insane.
Are the three Sweeper cards the only way in this deck to remove enemy threats? I guess if you don’t run on a budget you have the money for all those tutors to get them. That’s still only creature removal if I am not missing something here - while Esper offers so many ways of removing spells
Great decklist, thinking about revuilding my wilhelt deck. Any chance we get a non cedh version (-tutors, rocks and thessa combo)? Or How would ypu remodel it for high power edh?
The usual method for "de-powering" an EDH list is: -Take out combos (Thoracle, Breach). -Trim efficient interaction (Miscast, Snuff Out). -Reduce tutors. -Add more Timmy stuff. -Replace expensive lands if on a budget.
Worth noting though: when your mana base isn't completely optimized, Dictate of Erebos might be preferable purely for having one less black pip. Not that three pips is impossible in 3C, in fact playing both isn't a bad move, but it's worth noting the variance that comes from playing with a budget.
