I love your videos and analysis man. You're one of the few content creators with really intelligent analysis and unique perspectives on things. That being said, my guilty pleasure is watching videos like this knowing fully that I never, ever have to interact with it as an ironman, haha. It just reaffirms my decision to escape the rat race years ago, because stressing over a volatile economy was the most miserable part of the game for me back on a main.
One of the only ways I stay happy is by buying a piece of gear with the intent of keeping it, instead of always shuffling my items around for what's worth the most at a current time. I know I could be making bank doing that now, but the game isn't fun if I'm focused on just GP
Most people who want GP buy from gold sites. They used to be more per mill, but now they're 20 cents per mill. If you track what it costs to buy a bond from back then to now based on gold prices, the price of the bond tracks nicely with the value of a mill versus the US dollar. It is approximately 2 dollars and some change to buy a 14-day membership today if you were to buy on a gold-selling site. Most people do it. Years ago when bonds were 4 m, the price of a mill was 50 cents, and hence still 2 dollars US. This obvious inflation trend devalued currency for the life of OSRS and previously RS3. It is not a recent trend, it will always be this way, accelerated by bots. The only way to make your items worth it is to earn them yourself and not sell them, and treat the game as if you are an ironman, or better yet be an ironman if inflation is devaluing your effort.
Nice video. Something I realized is that this inflation is essentially ruining moneymakers with a fixed gp/hr. The 700k/hr you used to make in f2p smithing rune legs used to be worthwhile but now 700k is nothing.
So true, a bond in f2p is absolutely horrific to get now. I have a horrible feeling the game is going to end up like WOW, where the currency is so worthless it's an effective way to get rid of most bots.
Another banger my guy! What are your thoughts on the recent price drops for high ticket items like tbow and items from nex. Do you think they’ll continue to drop in price short term? Also, Ive seen a lot of nex bots recently, do you think that plays a massive role in why zcb is down 50m or is it just following market conditions ?
Thanks mate, most items are just falling because people are cashing in, it's quite common for investors to sell about 2 weeks before the update the item is meant to be good for. More often then not, the hype brings an item up more than an update itself. That being said the ZCB has really crashed and I imagine it recovers soon, but I'm always wary since the scythe last year where people seemed to have inside information. It started raising a lot before the big announcement, which worries me when something like this happens.
Bought scy for 605m and I’m holding. It’s a great weapon with only a few current uses. Jagex has pledged to give it more uses. Think this update could be their chance
What do they do for you? You used to be able to get them super cheap from ip spoofing the store. That was a whole business but jagex did away with regional pricing or something a while ago.
basically every big pot that is won (100m 07 +) gives a 1% handout to the community, someone on random. You can get 2m to like 25m from a single click@@l0lan00b3
You do realize when prices of items sky rocket or drop super crazy they tend to update the game to make said item worse or better... as a ironman this would drastically effect your account more than helping as one day one item is your best then could be your worst.
Ive made over 800m profit since the end of leagues. Made over 550m profit flipping bowfas. Bought 25 for 92 sold for 115ea. Bought 10 eldritch orbs for 290m ea sold for 317ea. And most recent flip this week. Bought 9 soul reaper axes for 305-309m ea. they dropped to 290 ea so I was down like 150m lol but ended up selling today for 325-329ea. I enjoy buying crashing items and profit on panic sellers/buyers. ( I should have bought eldritch orbs though they crashed back down to 310m and went back up to 450m over night) and crashed back down to 350m after a few hours.
They did and it has doubled in price purely from that. Until it is released the scythe has an inflated price because of it and we have no idea what the true value is.
