Hi Philip, it's great to see the finishing process of your automata. This stage of making is one I always forget to realise that it takes time to complete. I use an Osmo wax/oil finish on my bare wood parts; it works very well but requires hand application. For my painted sculptures, I airbrush artists' varnish, which I'm able to spray undiluted through my airbrush. I love your videos, and I look forward to the next one. Oliver

Thanks Oliver. I was concerned that this one would literally be like watching paint dry. We have the remains of a big tin of Osmo from polishing a wooden floor. I will have to give it a try.

Nice work Philip. Going the extra mile makes all the difference. My wife and I live in a shipping container home that we built ourselves. It's a joy to live in. Working six-days a week, it took five-years to finish it. Someone asked me, "What made you keep going to make such a beautiful home?" The answer takes only one word. "Persistence!" I don't set the timeline. The job does.
