I’m going into my 4th year beekeeping. My experience is limited but it’s enough to know I don’t want to continue the way I’m doing it. We all know habitat loss and pesticides contribute to bee loss but I’m starting to believe over handling of hives, close proximity and treating the bee as a factory also contributes to mass losses.
It's definitely hive dependent... Last year all my hives I had from previous years had a good response when treated with Apivar... 1 one nuc I bought which was then a full blown hive had little to no mite kill. Great hive through the year but at that point it was doomed.
