I’m very dominant Vata and have adhd, never knew how much I would actually resonate with Vata types. I need the sun in my life, and need to walk daily. This really helped me realize I’m on the right path in balancing my life
Hi Andrea, we're sorry to hear you're having a problem. Feel free to visit this resource for more information about balancing the vata dosha and calming the mind: www.banyanbotanicals.com/info/ayurvedic-living/living-ayurveda/lifestyle/vata-daily-routine/
Recovering from a lifetime of exhaustion that lead to anxiety took me a lot of effort, self awareness and self control. As a tridoshic type dominating in Kapha,it is really important slowing down and to nap a lot, watching my thoughts as i go. Vata dominates my energies and i drink a lot to heal the drryness leading to nervousness and Pitta excess, all from overly high stimulation. TOday,i began waking up and moving out of bed around Kapha time, and i feel a real difference already,in how it lets me calm down, taking it easy.
Thank you so much for these great tips! I have had aggravated Vata for a while and I have been resting a lot, eating cooked foods and taking long forest walks. Now that I am about to take a road trip I started worrying that Vata could get aggravated again by too much movement, but I feel comforted with this video that as long as I take it slow and follow my routine everything will be fine. Thank you so much 💛
Tips for balancing Vata by creating Consistency. 1. Less is More 2. Take Rest Seriously (pamper yourself) 3. Oil Self Massage 4. Alternate Nostril Breathing 5. Slow Movement
Thank you for watching all three of our daily routine videos! Yes, there are some similarities in the tips because all daily routines should incorporate those key elements. However, each video goes into specifics about customizing those tips towards balancing a specific dosha.
I just learned today that I’m a Vata, and I’ve been doing anything but balancing and being kind to my body and vata energy. Thank you so much for this video!

I have just recently looked into Ayurvedic lifestyle. I am soooo Vata, been all my life and its so out of whack. Had so much grief through personal losses, anxiety and just not grounded at all. I am working on it, starting to change my diet and slow down but I find it so hard to relax. !
very inspirational video and great tips thanks! one can really see her shine, makes one more convinced about ayurveda :) my favourite balancing routine are two yoga sessions after a cool shower, one straight in the morning and the other between 4-5pm. It really works wonders. I definetly recommend the "Shambhavi Mahamudra Kriya" from Sadhguru, if one is interested in learning powerful practices. It makes a huge difference from whom you learn and how you do them, so if it doesnt seem to do anything for you dont give up too soon and look for vibrant teachers who could sit all day and be blissfull, they have to do smt right in my opinion :) my other routine is a slow walk after my meals in nature :) wish you all a beautiful moment!
For many years I was told I had a pita dominant constitution by some people but only today I realised it is my vata that is imbalanced. I have most of the symptoms, it has been eye opening to read about it and watch. I am trying to establish a routine now and follow a diet that's appropriate but I have also recently begun strength training as part of an exercise routine. I felt it was my body's need as I have never had any consistent physical exercise in my 38 years before. I tried yoga but intuitively felt my body needed more, so I'm just going with a personalised physical training programme now. I will follow the oil massage as well, thank you.

Even I am from India and i agree ayurveda and yoga have been so impactful..these settle fundamental level imbalance.. i am enjoying seeing you educating people..keep it up
The root of vata balancing lies in sleeping well in the night, as awakening in the night and sleeping in the day causes vata vitiation... 2. Eating more dry foods are also a prime cause... 3. Exposing oneself to air eg. AC for a very long time that too getting habituated... 4. Getting stressed out is also an other cause - remedy is yoga and pranayama.
Isn't she lovely? We are so fortunate to have Alicia Diaz appear in our videos to share her wisdom and charisma. Thank you for your comment! We're glad to hear you find us helpful!
Actually the action of cooking is very grounding, centering and happy for me. Drinking golden milk or tea before bedtime. Sleeping in a soft, cuddly bed. Eating homemade Kitchari with a lot of spice and greens with ghee.
That's really interesting about exercise because I haven't been able to keep to consistent exercise because my body always tells me to take it slow even though the medical community and friends tell me that I need to work out for 30 or 40 minutes high intensity 5 times a week and that always makes me kind of burnt out

I am from India, all my family ancestors were traditionally ayurveda doctor(vaidya) A simple solution to reduce vata dosha is drink desi cow milk and eat ghee, your problems will be ended soon.
I'm Vata but I like intense physical exercise. Doesn't that go against the tip to engage in exercises which aren't too intensive? If so what do you recommend?
Keep up any exercise you love! Balance out any intense exercise with some pranayama and massage to help ground that vata, helping to keep things balanced. 💚

When my kids were young they were my routine…when they slept…I did a quick meditation and then slept. When they nursed I did my breathing exercises. When they wanted to play I incorporated yoga…instead of having to schedule around them…use theirs.

Hi, for nadi shodhana I have a question. I often have one side of my nostril obstructed/closed. I cannot really breath thru there. Do you know any good ways to unlock both sides so that this breathing practice can be done effectively. Any tips, suggestions appreciated. Thanks...
Thank you for tuning in! You could try doing neti beforehand, or herbal steams, ginger and licorice can help to open the channels. Energetically the nostrils are related to the nadis, so on a deeper level that side is blocked in the energetic channels. In yoga, you can simply lie on the side that you want to open.
CAC Vata balance tablet is a rejuvenating blend of herbs is specially formulated to balance Vata doshas without aggravating Pitta or Kapha doshas. It may be used to support overall health and well-being by Vata constitutions with or without food. For those with a dual constitution that includes Vata or a tridoshic constitution, it is an excellent formula for the Vata season, which in most parts of the world is autumn and early winter.
One thing i am still confused about is how often a predominant vata dosha should eat in a day. Is it best to eat smaller, but more frequently (about 5 meals) or should you stick with just breakfast, lunch and dinner?
Thank you for tuning in! 🌱💚 This is a wonderful question. The beautiful thing about Ayurveda is that there is not a singular box to fit into. It is ideal to have three substantial vata friendly meals, however, you also need to listen to the needs of your body, and if you are feeling the need to eat more than 3 meals a day I would lean into that. With Vata one of the biggest things is routine and establishing regularity, so if you were to do more meals you still want to try and be consistent and eat around the same times each day. Here is a wonderful article about Managing a Vata Constitution banyanbotanicalssupport.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/84992#:~:text=Managing%20a%20Vata%20Constitution
Thank you for mentioning that! We might start doing this on videos in the future for those who don't have time to watch the full video. We appreciate you taking the time to notify other viewers.
Making sure you are drinking enough water is always helpful. Here is an article from our website on ways to balance Vata :) www.banyanbotanicals.com/info/ayurvedic-living/learning-ayurveda/get-back-into-balance/focus-on-balancing-vata/
Thanks a lot for the video. I guess I have Vata Dosha, and currently very lean, with irregular indigestion. I find it really hard to sit in a place and study. Without rigrous exercise, how can i increase my weight, Is there any preffered way for Vata people to maintain their weight. Thanks
Good question, Hardik. We recommend eating 3 nourishing meals around the same time each day. Great questions! The typical wake up time for Vata individuals is between 3-6am, and more importantly waking at the same time each day provides your body with a natural biorhythm that can support overall balance. You may want to take a look at our Vata Daily Routine guide for more insights. www.banyanbotanicals.com/info/ayurvedic-living/living-ayurveda/lifestyle/vata-daily-routine/ 💚
Hola, Criss, we do not currently have a option to listen to this video in Spanish. However, we appreciate your question and will take this into consideration.
Great question! Each Dosha is present within our constitutions, so it is possible to have more of a Vata imbalance in the mind. For more specific guidance, we suggest working with an Ayurvedic practitioner! You can also take our Dosha quiz for a general idea of your constitution and current state of imbalance www.banyanbotanicals.com/info/dosha-quiz/
Great question! Exercise practices will vary for each individual, but you might find some guidance from this article www.banyanbotanicals.com/info/ayurvedic-living/living-ayurveda/health-guides/the-ayurvedic-approach-to-fitness/
Hi Samantha! Thanks for your comment and question. It's an important one. The doshas can certainly manifest in our bodies in different ways. Have you taken our profile quiz on the website? It can offer a baseline result for your constitution as well as any potential imbalances. Vata mind can typically be balanced with daily routine, herbs, and pranayama (breath) practice as described in the video. Ayurveda sees losing weight as a process of removing excess Kapha dosha from the body, which actually requires a bit more rigorous exercise and particular food choices.
