The depressed dude in Vault 13 made me snort from laughing so hard oh my god. LOL I love Interplay's Fallout and dark humor.

I've made a habit of yelling Enclave whenever I saw their atrocities(back in fallout 3) but they killed an entier generation of innocent deathclaws and the only spect of decent humans in this game that were polite to Choosen ... They'll pay for this, By the balls of the sky spirit they will Pay. Like seriously these were the most wholesome people I've ever seen in fallout 2. Aside from matt who can shove it, this broke my heart. Id like to believe the Choosen One hung out here for a bit and grew attached to these people from their kindness and hospitality after amount of crap he's faced in Reno and Redding. as a side note, it's possible to "technically" save the intelligent deathclaws in vault 13 or at least get an ending in which the vignettes don't mention their being slaughtered.

In order to save them all, you havr to go to navarro before vault 13. After you complete the quest in vault 13, there is a timer to the arrive of the enclave.

You know, since I've never played Fallout 2, I honestly thought the deathclaw's voices were part of the game, until Goris said the name "Oxhorn" and it hit me that Ox is just voicing them with a pitch effect.

I wish we had more games like these that has no fear on going in deep conversations, like the guy that gathers herbs and talks about the deathclaws really in-depth. There needs to be more of these. Also, i love how you don't leave ANYTHING behind while playing, awesome video.

If you race to a certain location in the "basin of tears" *cough cough* SPOILERS REDACTED and eliminate a certain man in a certain soundproof room MORE REDACTED within 2 weeks of obtaining the GECK, you can save the deathclaws at Vault 13. However you need the Restoration Project mod for the game to properly give you the "good ending" slide at the end of the game (along with the good ending for Gecko).

The Brotherhood most likely arranged some kind of trade with Vault 13, possibly exchanging mainframe, and computer technology for some Vault-Tec supplies or technology, possibly even sensitive documents stored in the Vault systems.

I no longer feel any sympathy for the Enclave Remnants

Those death claws are huge intelligent teddy bears with hearts of gold. I may be a cold blooded killer in the games but I'd gladly hug one of those big smart Bois.

There are two options here that leave room for intelligent Deathclaws returning in the future: we never learn just how many the Enclave experimented on or if the female previously laid eggs before reaching Vault 13. Also we know that their intelligence is caused by a strain of FEV, which could either still exist in Enclave storage or (since it's a virus...) be extracted from Deathclaw blood again.

It's actually possible to avoid the massacre at Vault 13 with a serious speed run, but I'm sure Ox will cover that in a video either on Navarro or the FO2 endings.

Sucks the intelligent Deathclaws are never referenced in later fallouts. I mean, you even meet a companion from 2 in New Vegas, you think he’d at least mention the intelligent death claws.

I watched oxhorns videos as I play the fallout 2 on my phone. I play it like a museum audio guide. It's super fun with the commentary. And no, me not doing detective work to discover and complete stuff doesnt make it any less fun. Even more fun

It is heartbreaking meeting these friendly Deathclaws knowing that the Enclave will kill them all.

I was so sad to read that the original creators regretted the intelligent death claws and have straight up said that they’re dead and gone.

Fascinating that the old fallout tunes crept into FO3 and FONV and hadn't even noticed until I had played through FO1&2 then replayed 3 & NV - the music feels more ominous in the older entries. Games (1&2) were dark even when it was day cycle. Viva Goris!

that would be a great starting point for the next fallout game, as a vault dweller who becomes a prisoner of the enclave, then you can either start out aiding them, and becoming a part of their faction, or you can find a way to escape and your quest eventually circles back around to destroying them and freeing the other vault dwellers
