This man deserves a knighthood. Had the same issue with my mokka, garage charged me 200 to change a diaphragm and the issue was still there. Tried this and no more noise. Thanks friend
THANK YOU SOO MUCH!!!!! This was exactly what was wrong with mine, and once the spark plug was tightened and the ignition coil pack put back, the noise disappeared completely!!! I'm very grateful you took the time to make this video, saved me wrongly doing an unnecessary replacement of idler pully and belt
You’ve saved me a fortune. Just did this on my 2013 Corsa and it stopped the squeaky noise. It was exactly the same cylinder as your video. Thank you so much 😊
My Zafira Tourer 1.4T did this squeaky engine noise too. I have to tighten the third spark plug because it was loose so I could take it off by hand easily. After thightening the spark plug the noise really disappeared. Thank you very much for this repair video!
This was the problem with mine!! Chipping noise on acceleration....can’t believe a spark plug caused this sound!! Thank you so much for posting this video, I would never have thought to check these!! You saved me serious time and money, cheers again!! :)
Wow... Just been to the garage and he told me the engine is shot. Then I found this video and it has worked a treat. Can't believe the mechanic didn't spot this. I just wish I seen this before he charged me £25 for taking a look. Thanks a lot for the video!
Long story short. Meriva B 2011 1.4 petrol. I had the same noise only when accelerating took car to mechanic they have said that this something to do with the valve under the engine cover and it need to be replaced and they doesn't guarantee it will fix it. They have quoted me £520. I took the car back and I came across this video. I have changed spark plugs myself last year. All of them looked OK no black tar etc. But i have tightened them and the noise have stopped. Thank you so much for sharing this. I would lost 100s of £.
My daughters corsa is making a very similar noise and Iv been thinking it’s a pulley. But now Iv watched this vid I’m going to check the spark plugs now, thank you so much for sharing this information.
my car was making a similar sound so I suggested to take a look into the spark plugs and my car doesn't make the sound anymore! Saved me easily 1500, as they said I would need a new engine
I'm glad that video help you a lot. every time seeing comment like that put smile on my face😊 please subscribe my channel and turn on notification that mean a lot to me
GREAT ! finally a video of that problem . Could you give me some info , the problem is that exact thing. the official garage i was taking my car completely f****d it up , had a leak for a year and they didnt even notice (3 times in 1 year for inspection and P107error ) untill my water pump literally broke down. under the bonet seemed like explosion of oil *i assume theyve checked my engine withouth the sparkplugs and oil went all over . took the car charged me 1000+euro to get the stuff fixed and 1 week later i start hearing this annoying noise . some said pulley, aircon unit *fully working* i dont see how that can cause the problem ,at one point they told me i need head gasket change for christs sake . So , i guess i should take out the sparkplugs clean them and the residue from that residue and should work ? great for the video !!!
The reason why I pause the video because not every garages can be honest with customer for small things they can charge you us much they want. my advice is to tighten your spark plugs before any further spending money
@@sanmechanic9040 it did fix my problem ,for now ,im sure i must change the sparkplugs as upon inspection ive noticed rust and residue . Hope you do well here ! We common folk need more honest people like you man! Good luck! Subscribed
Hi. I would like to ask a question. I have opel corsa d 1.2 66K km . When car is car 4th gear between 1700 -2000 rpm snd shift to 5th gear a knocking out sound comes from engine. 3rd to 4th is same. But when i use agressivley mean that higher rpm no knocking out sounds comes. Is this how vorsa engine works or same thing wrong hsppen in engine . I changed coil and sparkle.
Mine doesn't sound like that but it's coming from that area just a constant chirp it's not too loud but I can hear it when idling and driving sometimes could it be that?
I just got this exact noise (but only for 1-2 seconds on startup, accelerating from idle and tur-off) after changing the spark-plugs. The mechanic couldn't find the source of the noise, but I'm guessing one of the new plugs is just not tight enough. Is it safe to use the car for a few days in this situation? Can't take it to the garage until wednesday.
I have the same problem have replaced The auxiliary drive belt and water pump and fitted a new rocker cover but still have the noise i have spoken to Vauxhall mechanics and they say Crank Shaft oil seal at the front of the engine [WATER PUMP END] so if it cures it i will let you know my car is a Vauxhall Astra 2013 1398 engine. Did you get it fixed ?.
Hi there, I have the Astra J also. It’s the 1.4 Sri petrol and I have the same issue did you manage to resolve the problem and if so would you be kind enough to explain what was wrong and replaced. Kind Regards
@@sanmechanic9040 I got a 2018 1.4 it's definitely not from the timing chain. It's more like top center between the coil pack and injector rail... Most importantly when the car has reached temp.
does this sound start straight away after switching on the engine? or does it start squeaking after a while?. mine makes this sound after the engine has warmed up! could be crank seal for me.!?
Most of the time you will notice more on the cold engine maybe little bit quieter on hot engine because metal will expand with heat. Try to tight all the spark plugs and see how it goes
