You ain’t done a crap job at all. I think you should give yourself a pat on the back to be honest. Your video is clear and simple to understand especially the bleeding!. Absolutely top job and thank you for even making this video in the first place
Mate got the same noise on mine feared the worst checked good old RU-vid found your video followed it closely job done really was that easy thanks bud 😊👍
cheers mate , mine went tonight so after watching your vid i'm off to fix it tomorrow . so cheers again , i'll let you know how it went . fingers crossed .
I test drove a 2008 this evening and the clutch was pretty stiff. This amy come in handy! It's a good price so I may take a chance and buy it and sort out any problems with what's left over of my budget.
Philip Squire I’ve had no other clutch issues with mine mate. (Touch wood) they seem pretty solid on the whole. Make sure you check the fuel injectors if you can though! - I’m sure you’ve heard their common issue!?
@@matthewworrall5658 I have, the seller, a seemingly kosher bloke :-) says they've been changed but he's got no paper on that. I'll pick up a cheap code reader and check the codes before I put the money down.
Hello Matthew: The clutch master cylinder of my Renault Trafic 2.5 dci 140 c.v. year 2005 is different. It is mounted on the front, in the firewall, next to the brake booster. I would greatly appreciate being able to watch a video, (which I can not find on You Tube, grrrrr ... !!), about the replacement of the Trafic clutch master cylinder equal to mine. Thank you very much, greetings from Spain. (Y)
Luis Antonio Mato Jara Piovich Hello from the UK 🇬🇧. Unfortunately I just post videos as and when jobs need doing on my own van. Sorry I can’t help! 🤷🏼♂️ Good luck - if you manage to find or make a video of that, please post a link to it in the comments. 😄👍🏻 Cheers 🍻
@@matthewworrall5658: Thanks anyway, Matthew. (:) If I dare to do the repair myself, I will record it on video and share it publicly on You Tube. Greetings to all (Y)
Sorry I only just saw this. Once the job was completed and the clutch was bled up properly I think it had the same resistance as it did before I changed it. It was a long time ago now though! 😬
Broadland Jet Washing Evening! 🙋🏼♂️ I got that one from Halfords mate.cant remember what it cost but it’s well worth the investment! 👌 Let us know how it goes! 🍻
@@matthewworrall5658 i bought one today, now waiting for master cylinder to arrive & i'll get at it. Do you leave the clutch down when you open the bleed nipple ? cheers
@@matthewworrall5658 hi mate, got it all done, bottom pipe was a bastard to get out but the side one was easy. Now got plenty of clutch again & the 1 man bleed kit was a god send, total bill was about £40 :-) I just want to thank you for your video & your help, if it wasn't for you taking the time to make the video i would'v have ended up with a huge garage bill. I wish there were more people like you on this planet, thankyou very much :-)
Thanks mate, well done! Not a problem, I’ve saved loads of money just bumbling my way through jobs with the help of other people’s videos, so thought should do my bit! It’s actually harder than you think trying to get in there with the camera etc! 😩😄🍻
Great work i did the same and that tool is amazing,Just a question begore i replaced my cylinder like u did my van needed clutch in and brake pedal pressed to start,i have replaced the cylindr and now the van starts with out pressing vlutch and brakes what have i done wrong,.
@@matthewworrall5658 Yes it drives perfect goes into gear good, reason i replaced it was it was leaking fluid with new one in its perfect, just odd that now it starts with out me having to put pedals in.no wiring to the cylindr, its very odd.
IMMY I won’t pretend to be an expert mate. I have no idea! I’m just learning as I go.. 🤔🤷🏼♂️ Sorry I can’t be of any help but let us know when you find out. I’d be interested to hear. 😄
@@matthewworrall5658 Thanks for your replies mate yeah defo will let you know, And thanks for your vid was spot on followed everything you did,Got the part from Euros at 25 and installed it myself saved alot of money thanks,
My clutch is making the same noise and will come up really high, it has occasionally gone flat to the floor. I found the problem to be the clip at the top of the master cylinder slips off the ball joint that connects to the pedal. I can only assume the plastic breaks. Did you notice if the top ball joint clasp was damaged in any way ? Many thanks.
Yes, I had that issue about 18months later, with the replacement master cylinder I fitted. (I can only assume cheep Chinese parts 🤷) It still comes off occasionally but I'm just living with it untill I get change to swap it out again! 😩
Hi having same problem with plastic push on bit at the top of the master cylinder keeps popping off the ball joint on the pedal would you recommend changing the master cylinder as really annoying pops off on a daily basis
hi mate was there a leak of clutch fluid under the left side front? im trying to suss out whats wrong with my vivaro 56 plate my clutch is like you described but a leak stain on my driveway not sure what it is cheers
misterfud I didn’t have that issue but, the only thing I could think of is the bleed nipple or the union where it enters the bell housing? That’s slightly left of the centre of your engine. Check out 6:24 in my video you can see it. Might just be a case of curing that leak then bleeding the system up? Let us know how you get on mate!
Leak on the left side, beside the clutch slave cylinder. Can also be something simpler and rather common. The temperature sensor on the thermostat housing. The seal is provided by a single O-ring. That overtime time tend to degrade and become brittle, as all rubber does. Originating a leak quite close to the clutch slave cylinder., in fact they're about 10cm apart. As with any leaks, best procedure is to wash and dry the area. Just wash the entire engine, don't be a slob. LOL 😂 Next, observe. That's it, no rocket science involved. The O-ring is very cheap, if difficult to locate. Just change the entire sensor, usually not very expensive. The entire intervention can be done without tools!
@@matthewworrall5658 Dunno, I don't have a Haynes manual yet, I've done bigger jobs. But I have a contact that does decent car work so I'll have a word with him, he has a lift. I have a sloping gravel driveway...
I would have though they’ll charge you 2 hours labour plus parts. It depends who you go to but I reckon the average is £40 - £50 per hour and the part cost me £22 I think. I would say £120-£150. They might try and quote you with out VAT and add it at the end!
@@matthewworrall5658 just called dealer, they want,150 for the part 😭😭, going to call local garages for quotes, thanks for the rough price on ur opinion, Why I'm replacing it is cause the pedal feels hard and I had the clutch and the csc changed and when I took it out of the garage it was smooth for like 10 mins and then went all hard, and also there's a slight sticky creak, do you think it's the master cylinder that's at fault mate? Thx
Copy and paste this in to eBay; Vauxhall Vivaro Renault Trafic Primastar Clutch Master Cylinder Pedal 93857433 There are different quality of parts a guess but that seems expensive. The one I fitted is still going strong 2 years later!
If it was me I’m be giving it back to the garage that changed your clutch and getting them to sort it. I’m not an expert so I wouldn’t like to diagnose it but it’s clutch related so they should at least look at it for free it would probably take them less that 2 hours to chuck one in for you.
@@matthewworrall5658 yh I looked into using those cylinders but apparently they won't fit, yh the garage that did the clutch and the slave cylinder said that it's the master cylinder so they not paying anything towards it lol, I'm hoping this fixes it otherwise ima prob just sell the car or something lol
my master clutch cylinder as gone carnt get the part anywhere 2nd hand ,main dealer wants £470 for a replacement / I have a Renault espace 2ltr petrol ant ideas out there
W81 BOT / have no idea how eBay works never delt with it but if the part is there my mate could sort it / funny thing is I know a guy who as a unit all he deals in r espaces he proberly as the part but he as stopped working there does another job ,but lost his details ,all his cars r still there crazy
You know what mate I think your right! I can’t find anything for that year. You could try partsgateway.co.uk they are normally pretty good. They search loads of parts dealers for you. Failing that if you can find either a scrap yard that happens to have you car or someone selling one for spares /repairs you could always remove it your self! 🤷🏼♂️😄👍🏻 Other than that I’m lost for ideas.
