This week I complete most of the carpeting within the Van before Insulating the roof - Everyone Keeps asking How do I get a seamless finish to the UPVC Tongue & Groove Roof/ceiling?? - This week I discuss and show you the preparation!
Hello My Friend- sorry for the late reply, I’d only gone and sliced my left hand with a Stanley blade- five stitches and antibiotics later… put me behind now with the build!
Presuming you attach trim but not 100% sure…… is it possible to show in the next video how you support the roof near the bulkhead section and rear door panel (especially either side of the light) to prevent them from bouncing around ? Thanks again
Great video and saved me from making a few big mistakes. I was going to ply the roof and then carpet but now want to do the same roof as it looks much cleaner finish. Need to buy the stuff this week as I am about to finish the reflective so perfect timing to see your video. Can you let me know where you bought the soffit board from and dimensions please. Also, on the edge that meets the side of the van, how do you attach that piece to give an invisible join as you cannot staple into the tongue? Really appreciate your comments
Hello my friend, Good to see you're still watching me waffle on about van conversions :-) - Wickes www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-PVCu-Interior-Cladding---White-167mm-x-2-5m-Pack-of-6/p/190170 You will need two pack and two trims. Fix the fist trim up close to your carpet and everything else will fit perfect.
Struggling to purchase the required size - Looks like I'm going to have to do a bit of joining up - Hence why I've not done the Ply panels on this build.
Hello, All Ply is carpeted then fixed :-) I've hidden all screws using countersunk screws and then carpet a small round piece of carpet over the screw head -Thanks for the interest & Comment.
Thanks for the comment - I did this video of the sliding door in my 2nd conversion, here is the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uB4r9C1OvDI.htmlsi=ilNsPpzsHrxbbHo7 You will notice that I now use recycled insulation in my builds now as per Van 3 build.
Hello, I think you're asking why I don't spray the back of the Carpet in one go. It's easier to work with if you do it in sections. once you apply the glue to the back of the carpet, it sticks so well, it's difficult to make small adjustments - by doing it in sections, It does take longer but- you have more time to make adjustments. Thank you for continuing to show interest & watch my videos. All the best :-)
Hello really sorry for the late reply. At this stage I’ve not touched the cab area, not sure what to do with it… it needs something to modernise it. 👍 you got any ideas?? I sliced my hand open 4 weeks ago which has put me behind with the build 😩 New video up tonight.
@@abikerstale806 hope your hand is healing well. I have had installed a pioneer dab radio and added a reversing camera as your video, but connected to radio screen. Will try and clean the door cards and then fit new carpets. I am still looking at further ideas.
