That little screw bottom left got to my nerves today. I had to end up removing the bumper in order to have more room to remove it. It took me over an hour to remove it as there was a metal clip holding it in place that was rust and shttered. Such a nightmare! Faulty condenser out now, new on in tomorrow then regassing. Your video was very helpful! Such a simple job and I was quoted 120 + Vat for labour only. Saved the day!
I installed the new one about an hour ago. It took me 20 minutes. Such an easy job and garage asking for 2 hours labour (£130). I was quoted just over £300 for the job including regassing. I changed it myself and now having it regassed. Spent £77 on condenser (could have paid £59 if I was willing to wait it needed it for today so, no bad for about £18 extra) + £45 for regassing (on offer). In the end, £122 for the whole job. Can't complain! Your video gave me the confidence, thanks a lot!
Hi, I’ve followed your excellent video, thank you. I’ve undone the electrical connector but the wire seems to have an extra clamp between the pipes which means I can’t lift the rad out-do you know how to deal with that? I don’t want to pull anything!!
There should be 2 pipe bolts for the iner and outer and 1 small one which is on the side of the top one which should be a 8m plus 4 Bolts 2 either side of the rad holding it in including the electric connector. Hope that helps
@@CFCARREPAIRS Thank you-I’ve taken the 4 bolts off holding the rad on and I’ve taken the 2 bolts off connecting the rad to the pipe work system. I’ve unplugged the electrical wire but the wire is further fixed to a connector between the lower pipe work which means I can’t move the rad until this is unplugged which I can’t seem to see how to do it.
Great video. I'm planning to do it on my Astra H tomorrow. I have been told I need to oil the new rings(in case the ones there are cracked or something). What kind of oil should I use? Are these rings the ones you mentioned in the video(the purple ones)? Thank you
@@CFCARREPAIRS yes i will definitely bring it back. Because its so strange when i brought to them i have airconditioning working. And suddenly its gone after belt change.
