I had a c-section 5 years ago 09/09/2015 with my first son. I am due with my second son 11/11/2020. I'm planning on a vbac but my Dr. wanted to schedule a c-section one week after my due date. I'm searching for as much information as possible since I don't feel like I've received a lot of information or support. I pray for a successful natural delivery! UPDATE: IT WAS A SUCCESSFUL VBAC! 🙏❤

My doctor told me I shouldn’t do it but I told him why can’t I just try he said anything can happen but I believed I could do it I’ve watched a lot of videos I f women who have had 2 or 3 c section have a vbac and was successful. So I told my self if they can do a t so can I 🙂 I also had a doula that Sarah recommended me. She is amazing my doula help me stand my ground. So can my due date at 39 weeks for my schedule c section and I don’t not show up I waited until I was 40 weeks oh I was so wasn’t having labor pains and I did try castor oil help me as well I started having contractions there’s more to the story.

Classy Cassy that’s good congrats and yes god is all the time. Yes I was 40weeks when I went in to labor . He call me and told me to come in I was having contractions 10 to 15 minutes apart and I went to the doctor office and all he did was look that me and yea you’re contracting go straight to the hospital and contract their it’s safer for you cuz I didn’t have two c section. I didn’t go straight to the hospital I went home to grab my hospital bag call my husband and my doula I’m going in to labor meet me at the hospital. I stayed there over night my contractions started getting Little closer 6 to 7 mins apart. 3 to 5 it was weird contractions. The next which was December 15 on a Saturday afternoon I had my baby girl. It was a great experience oh yes I had epidural I couldn’t take the pain lol it was too much. Oh it felt like I had to poop the on time and it started getting worse I told my doula I feel like I’m have to poop really bad so she went to go get the nurse and nurse check me I was 10 cm dilated after she checked me I felt like a had to push and doctor came in and started pushing. So I wish the best of luck to you and your baby and family ❤️

KoalaEdits Hiya. Congrats on ur successful vba2c. What was the gap of ur first & second c-s? My first was June 2010. And my second Aug 2017. And now I’m pregnant with my 3rd baby (33 weeks gone), my edd is mid June. I can’t really say I’m nervous bcos I’m choosing not to fear & trust completely in God. I must say I’m far more informed than ever & feeling confident. However, I’m certainly open to further information, guidances & tips...
@lisabrown4u
@lisabrown4u 5 лет назад
KoalaEdits And oh yes, I’m certainly hoping for a vbac & not a third c-s... I came really close on my last pregnancy to having a vaginal birth but lying down @ the hospital for too long caused the baby to go back due to my cervix swelling as a result of closing my legs cos I was in so much pain, no drugs. When I initially arrived @ the hospital, I was checked & was confirmed @ 6cm dilated. But I was made to lie down as they didn’t have mobile monitors that could allow u to move around yet know how the baby is doing. Anyway, next thing I know, they tell me I’m 3cm dilated - my husband didn’t understand it. Before I knew it an epidural & a caesarean took place. I was so mad at myself for not standing my ground, they literally couldn’t wait to open me up...

I had a C-section 16 years ago, and my doctor told me that I HAD TO have another one C-section again (this was assumed on the very first visit and without an ultrasound). After watching some of your videos and becoming a little more knowledgeable about giving birth, I am now looking at having a VBAC. I was also facing a possible C-section a month later due to a low lying placenta, which is now higher! Watching your videos and taking your advice has reduced my stress and anxiety ENORMOUSLY! My baby is currently breached, so I'll be watching your videos to get her into the right position. I am older and not in great shape, so I'll be taking notes on the best strengthening exercises to make labor a little less complicated. I thank you so much for doing what you're doing. My wife had uterine rupture and placental abruption from a pitocin induced VBAC. Her csection was 8 years before, and she had two vaginal births before that. But it all went bad. And our son was without oxygen for more than 20 mins. He was diagnosed with Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy. He's one now, and luckily uneffected so far

@ewright2806 Год назад
I know this is an old comment, but I read it about a month ago and its stayed with me so I've come back. I decided to go for a vbac 8 months ago, 4 years after the emergency ceasar. I didn't have a uterine rupture, but felt more or less ignored because I couldn't managed to get passed 3 cms. When our daughter's HR began to drop, all of the sudden a room 'became available', they ruptured my membranes and gave me 3 hours to get her out. Her HR was dropping down to 40 bpm. It was terrifying. When she was born she hit the HIE trigger and after they worked on her for 20-30 mins she was carted off to the NICU and I was left alone in the delivery room (I told my husband not to let her out of his sight). I don't know if I'll ever really get over that experience to be honest. She seems fine, but I've found that I've constantly been second-guessing everything I thought I knew, like somehow I broke her. Every milestone she meets I'm grateful, but I'm also anxiously awaiting the next to see if she'll continue to be okay. I'm so sorry that happened to your wife and yourself and hope you are well.

@@justinboyens6082 oh my gosh, I'm so sorry. Did they scan him after he was born? They never scanned our daughter, they just flagged her based off of things like her umbilical chord acid/base test - like a checklist of things. When I asked if she actually had encephalopathy they couldn't give me a yes or no, they just told me they needed to watch her for 6 hours for seizures (she didn't seize). I guess I'll be worrying a while longer yet...

@@acarord I am definitely anxious, especially since tomorrow is my due date. I have been reading and realized that I just need to relax and let things take their course because worrying is just going to make things harder. I also thought about how oxytocin is the hormone that helps labor start and you release more of it when you are happy and not stressed. So I bought some foods that help increase oxytocin, like dark chocolate almonds, bananas, eggs, and chicken. I'm actually feeling pretty good other than the fact that I hate waiting. She was a breech birth and I told them in the office that day something wasn't right and I told them I was in labor. I had to see nurse midwife who was later let go. Anyway ...number 6 was a vbac and it was a bit worrisome bc it was all new. My doc stayed at hospital for while labor. His heart rate had dropped and they had everything prepped in case but everything went well and we delivered naturally. He was a good sized 7 lbs 11 oz. 20 in. If you're in the DMV area, "West End Midwifery" located in "Henrico Doctors Hospital" specialize in VBACs and are advocates for it. They've been doing it since before it was even called a VBAC. I have a question. February this year 2021 I had a c section. unplanned and they were expecting 10 pounds boy, I had hypertension, and induction at 39w1d failed. So they offered a c section and I reluctantly agreed. They told me that the incision they made tore from one end all the way down to the cervix when they started to push him through. OBGYN said if that was performed on her and that happened, she wouldn't labor on it but I can discuss it with the provider later when I am pregnant again. How bad does that sound medically to you? Not like I am going to do anything without consulting a doctor next time I get pregnant and not planning to labor at home anymore, unfortunately. But do you think I have a chance at all with natural labor? and if yes how many years do I have to wait till that will be considered safe?

Hey Sarah! Thanks for your excellent education! I have not seen many videos on VBAC In advanced maternal age. I’m 36 and trying for a VBAC, due in a couple weeks and man, my birth team unfortunately is not very supportive as my time with these docs has continued. It’s become more clear. Now, with covid, my doula cannot be with me in the hospital. So, my true question is that other than me having no complications so far, and healthy pregnancy and baby- what is the risk of my placenta dying if I don’t go into labor by my due date?

I had a vaginal birth with my first 2007 followed by an emergency c-section in 2009. Reason for the emergency was the baby was stuck, as in the doctor tried using forceps to get baby out and she wouldn't budge(this cause nerve damage in my baby's face). I was never really told the reason for this.

During the surgery the surgeon accidentally made a laceration on my uterus and they told me we might have to do a c-section because of risk of ruptured uterus. Can you plz tell if there was any way for manual induction and if i could have waited more for labor pains?

@Chispiitah21
@Chispiitah21 4 года назад
If the baby passed meconium they're supposed to make an emergency csection because that means baby is under stress for any reason. As you know, the baby aspirates amniotic fluid, so if meconium is present, it can lead to baby getting MAS (Meconium Aspiration Syndrome) which is lungs inflammation and might develop breathing problems after birth.

I would love and be forever grateful if you'd do a video about reasons why a labour doesn't progress. For example, my water broke and i didn't have any contractions, so they started inducing me but i was only 2 cm dilated after 17 hours. Even if i was in excruciating pain and the contractions were coming one after another and i barely had time to catch a breath in between, the baby was not coming down and i didn't dilate, so i ended up having a c-section. Nobody ever explained to me why this happened and i always believed that my body is probably not able to deliver a baby. It's been 11 years and that fear stopped me from having another baby, because recovery after c-section was really hard.

This video was so needed for me. I am 19 weeks pregnant with my second baby. My first was a cesarean birth due to prolapsed cord. At 36 weeks it was discovered that my daughter was breech with her foot being felt when I was checked for dilation. At 37 weeks I went in for an ultrasound to see if she had flipped in this process my doctor saw that the cord was prolapsed and I was rushed into the OR for an emergency c-section. I want so badly to have a VBAC this time around, but I am definitely still tramatized by the events of my c-section and the aftermath of my daughter's birth which is unrelated to my emergency c-section.

Hi just came across this video because I've been trying to get info on vbacs and uterine ruptures, now my doctors don't agree with me having a vbac and are definitely against it but I feel like I really wanna try to have a vbac, I had 5 csections in the past only because I had 2 twins sets and they didn't give me the option to have a vbac afterwards, my last csection was in April 2018, but it was vertical, what's your opinion on me trying to go for a vbac this time, #ps. This pregnancy everything looks healthy baby is in right position, placenta is high and away from scar tissue do you think I have a chance of going natural if I hold off at home? They said only if I go into labor early and I'm dialated would that even be an option? Please help

1st baby 15 yrs ago my baby was breech and had csec, which it got infected and had to heal inside out! 4yrs later in 2008 I had a repeat csection due to my dr thought it's too risky for vbac because she thought my baby was going to be big. When he was delivered thru csec he was 8lbs 8oz. is that a big baby to risk it then? Because I'm on my 3rd baby now after 11yrs and being told theres a higher risk if baby is over 8lbs again but my Dr. is willing for me to do a trial birth this time around. Both my kids were over 8lbs. The big reason why I wanna try for vbac is because I'm soo scared I might get another infected csection! Also my mom and sister had fast labors too maybe good genetics for birth for me too and maybe I should try! Help! Thanks.

Sorry to hear about your situation. Is there any real, serious complications in your pregnancy that made your doctor suggest to you to have such early premature labour at 26 weeks? What is her solid reason? Personally I don't think I would follow your doctor's suggestion. I strongly feel such a planned early premature labour is unnecessary, even dangerous to your baby. I think you should seek second opinion from another Obgyn doctor. The chances of your baby surviving outside womb after 26 weeks is not that high.
