To witness this at the age of 12 in ‘83 was special. Every band coming out was awesome. I use to go to the store and read Cream magazine and Circus magazines for hours. Great memories for sure, all those records are what shaped me and made me who i am today
That's great to hear man. I feel the same way. Feel we were the lucky ones able to live through that time. Nothing can touch the music of that era. I guess that's why we're still talking about it 40 plus years later right ha
Warlord Deliver Us has always been one of my all time favorite albums, I always thought the guitarist is excellent and has a Randy Rhoads type sound/feel , always thought he could have stepped into Ozzy's band after Randy passed away. Never understood why they never got a lot bigger and well known, they deserved much more fame, success and recognition. Glad to see them talked about and knowing I am not the only one who remembers them fondly.
I love all of the albums you showed, but the only ones I got into at the time were the Crue, the Def Leppard, and the Quiet Riot. Like you, I got all my metal from MTV at the time, and rarely saw Headbangers Ball until much later. I love the Warlord...such and underrated band. The later stuff is just as good.
We were so lucky to have MTV that actually played videos. It was such a huge piece to becoming a fan. To me the collecting physical tapes/records etc all went hand in hand with it.
Witchfynde - Cloak and Dagger Manilla Road - Crystal Logic Slayer - Show No Mercy Manowar - Into Glory Ride Bitch - Be My Slave Anvil - Forged in Fire Witchfinder General - Friends of Hell Plasmatics - Coup D Etat Raven - All For One Black Sabbath - Born Again Savage Grace - the Dominatress ( EP) Metal Massacre 3 & 4 Compilations, And the greatest album of 1983 Mercyful Fate - Melissa
That's one hell of a list. Lots of those bands I didn't get into until much later. Love pretty much all of them now. Just found out recently that raven live pretty close to me and play Atlanta at least once a year and I had no idea. I've seen Raven a handful of times including November 2020 to in Florida at the Tommy and Marshalls azula tribute show, but I've never seen them in Atlanta
I like your style dude, first video of yours I've ran across... subscribed and will be checking out more. I agree Kill Em All was the best of 83, just perfection. I also agree with your take on Savatage. They were awesome up until Hall of the MK.... but once they went all "opera house synth metal" I was out. I was born in 72 so around the same age. First time I remember getting interested in metal was listening to the Blizzard of Ozz tape at my cousin's house. Then came Shout at the Devil and a little later, Master of Puppets. Well once I bought Puppets around the age of 14, I had to go back and get Kill Em All and Ride... it was over then, lol
I appreciate the kind words and glad you dig it. How lucky are we to have grown up in that era of metal. It was the best with a question. Sounds like you got into Metallica an album before me. I got into them on Garage Days but really got into them once Justice was released. Just like you once I was hooked I went back and had to check out those first 3 albums. Rest is history ha
Hey Brett. Love it dude. I just finished making a vid but I'll try and jump on this man! Got stuff on the go right now actually, but I'll come back. Cheers bud! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘

@@headbangerscloset8552 on the big screen (tv) sounded like that but on the lap top (right in front of me) after listening a few times sounded like you said Kerry. So, don't think you messed up just sounded that way cuz you said his name so quickly.
