This is not a compression test that measures the PRESSURE in each cylinder. This is a compression BALANCE test that shows the difference of compression between cylinders.
so it calculates compression one cylinder at a time by presumably opening vlaves on the other cylinders? and presumably RPM equates to compression by faster RPM = lower compression and vice versa?
Passat B7 2011 203.000km 1.6 TDI CAYC motor. Cylinder 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 ( 272 - 272 - 274 - 273 ). But, what is this " 272/min " ? What does it mean ? Are cylinder 1 and 2 leaking ? What should be the normal values for 1.6 TDI ?
It doesn't measure the engine rpm. It measures the starter rpm. For example, if one cylinder has a significantly higher rpm value, it has low compression due to the starter motor being able to turn faster because of less resistance.
Nefungoval mi palivomer ani teplota chladiacej kvapaliny merace ked som vymenil relatka 103 a 109 rucicky zacaly ist no s tym ze palivomer neukazuje presne a rucicka je nevyspitatelna teda obe voda max 60stupnov a palivoner ukazuje max do 3stvrte
you have an tdi right? is it normal that while the test is running the car beginns to shake heavy or should i take a look on the engine mounts or dmf? my problem is soft shaking while accelerate. the injection quantity deviation while driving is perfect 0 and with the beginning of load while driving upwards or accelerate the values of cylinder 1 and 2 began to rise up to 3 and negative 3 mg/stroke. The compressiontest finished with all cylinders at the same speed.
This doesn't seem available on VCDS 22.9.0, that or it's not available on CAXA engines... Do you have any idea how else I could do a compression test on a Scirocco 1.4l 122hp CAXA?
This is called a relative compression test. It is for picking out bad cylenders, when you crank the engine the computer is recording the speed for each cylinder with no fueling. The faster a cylinder is moving the less compression it has. It doesn't tell you how much compression you have in terms of pressure only a comparison of your best cylinder to the worst.
the rpm does not correlate with the pressure in a cylinder. 240 1/min should be enough to perform a compression test, however you should ideally attach a powerful charger to the 12 v battery to ensure that the rpm's do not drop between measuring cylinders.
