I tried the original Popeye's chicken sandwiches before I went vegan, so I can attest that this version is WAY tastier on top of being far more humane. Also, if you are too pressed for time (or lazy) to batter and fry your own filet, can I suggest a hack? Spray Gardein Ultimate Chicken filets with coconut oil spray, season liberally with the cajun seasoning from this video, and air fry. While not quite as good as home battered and fried, it's pretty damn tasty, especially if you have some McClure's spicy garlic and dill pickles.

After it came out I made a spicy “honey” but for the base I used some homemade dandelion syrup. 100% will make again just as a dipping sauce for anything “meaty”, I made abt 2 cups worth and it didn’t even last 2 hours in my house 🤣 will try this recipe next !! Thnxies 🤤

That Cajun mayo sounds awesome! I didn't eat Popeyes often but I did really like it even though their service is SLOOOOOOW and they ALWAYS got something wrong in my order. LOL
Making these today but with the Oaster mushrooms a ciabatta bun and also putting my own southern take adding onions and cheese to the sandwhich as well as pickled red onion on the hottie sandwich of course I'm buttering and toasting the bun the classic one I'm doing garlic butter cheers maybe I'll take photos and maybe one day I'll perfect my own vegan "burger" buns

As far as nutrition is concerned, the only positive you can say about these two plant-based versions is that they are cholesterol free. Other than that, however, these are incredibly unhealthy. They're loaded with tons of saturated fats and oil, from the deep-frying process to all the oil in the processed "chicken" meat. Then, you've got all the added sugar, as well. Maybe once a year as a special treat, but no more than that. I would love to see some creative ways to make these whole-foods, no-oil, and heart healthy. [Hint, hint.] 😃
It's a good thing it's vegan and includes sugar..... you don't want anything to suffer or anything. Like the people who are still enslaved to extract the sugar..... YAY VEGAN
The idea of being vegan and using canola oil is baffling to me. "I won't eat animals, please let me eat engine oil". Please look deeper into what you are eating
