1:41 This reminds me of a DW documentary about the leather district in Italy where one of the workers lost a few fingers to a machine like this. I hope the tannery in this video treats and pays its employees well. It looks like a company that takes pride in its quality though.
Dear Hamza, yes our associated tanneries export. Since commercial activity is managed by each of them individually, regret to inform you that you have to contact the single tanneries by your own and arrange appointment with them. This is a link to our website page where you can find contact details for any member tannery: www.pellealvegetale.it/en/consortium/associated-tanneries/ Best regards
I am a leather craftman in S.Korea. It's very interesting to see the leather tanning process. But It would've been better to me If there was English subtitles on the video. I wanted to understand everything but It was not easy 😅
I just bought a wallet with this beautiful material. It came with a certificate of authenticity with a #. Is there anyway to look up info using the #? IE when it was processed or any other info regarding the hide. I checked website but I could of missed it.
Our Consortium is an association of 22 tanneries specialised in the production of veg tan leather. Since commercial activity is managed by each of them individually, regret to inform you that we do not manage the commercial activity of our associated tanneries. You have to contact the single tanneries by your own and arrange appointment with them. This is a link to our website page where you can find contact details for any member tannery: www.pellealvegetale.it/en/consortium/associated-tanneries/
Dear Sir, we are an association of tanneries producing vegetable-tanned leather. The consortium itself works in the promotion and safeguard of Tuscan veg-tanned leather with various types of activities but does not sell leather directly. You can buy leather directly from the associated tanneries. You can find a list of our member tanneries on our web site at the following page: www.pellealvegetale.it/en/associated_tanneries.htm Best regards
Hi, since commercial activity is managed by each of them individually, you have to contact the single tanneries by your own and arrange appointment with them. This is a link to our website page where you can find contact details for any member tannery: www.pellealvegetale.it/en/consortium/associated-tanneries/ If you need small quantities of leather you should contact LA PERLA AZZURRA or TEMPESTI Best regards
Dear Andre, the raw hides used by our associated tanneries derive from the slaughter of cattle destined, from the outset, to the food sector and they come from European farms which comply with EU legislation on animal welfare.
Dear Charles, why are you getting nervous? "Genuine" means "authentic" in this case. And we use it because our products are made of real leather not vegan or plastic materials.
pellevegetale because there is a type of cheap leather called genuine leather used in cheap belts and wallets, companies market it as genuine to make it seem like it’s good quality leather when in reality its not
@@charlesbronson240 We think you're confusing with other material. Vegetable tanned leather is a precious leather. The transformation from raw hides into a material that will resist throughout time is a process that slowly happens into wooden drums, in full respect of man and the environment. An astonishing process based on the use of natural tannins extracted from trees, on modern technologies and machineries and on the slow passing of time.
@@pellealvegetale In US, I believe, they categorize leather into 3 classes: full grain, top grain and so called genuine, which is, as above mentioned, really poor quality leather (splits I believe) :)
Dear@@prawdydawca13, in our case "genuine" means "authentic", namely that we are telling about real leather, not vegan leather or other product. Nice regards
No bovine or suine is killed for its skin. Actually only a minor part of the hides of bovines and suines killed for food are transformed in leather products because the price of the raw product is quite low. Are all the processes from the raw hide to the finished product that make the price of leather products to go up.
Where are most hides sourced from for members of your association? I assume europe? I have always been told most hides in the United States go to China and with current trade dispute hides here are literally worth nothing
Hello, the raw hides used by our associated tanneries derive from the slaughter of cattle destined, from the outset, to the food sector and they come from European farms which comply with EU legislation on animal welfare. The associated tanneries create value from by-product of the food industry, addressing the problem of waste disposal. #ConsorzioVeraPelle
Hi Brigid, no animal is killed for its skin. On the contrary, the raw hides used by our tanneries are the discarded by-products of the food industry producing meat for human consumption.
Cow hides are now considered byproducts of meat production but at one time when they were worth more, were a part of the value of a cow. personally I would rather have something made of natural products than plastics
Hi Mariana, as we said so many times we don't kill animal for its skin but, on the contrary, the raw hides used by our tanneries are the discarded by-products of the food industry producing meat for human consumption.
Leather is a by product of the meat industry. It's not a primary consumer product. Secondly what happens when animal die in farm houses. Do u see how it can lead to an mass epidemic. And so much for nature where on earth were you when Europe and America when you killed millions in Iraq,Vietnam, Japan, Vietnam, Syria,Africa, Indian subcontinent, and so on.
