This is the updated video - my first one I messed up and the way that I did the bypass was not correct. I will explain the correct way in this one!

Planning to add a DSP and amp to my 2012, should I take the input to the Bose amp and feed that into the DSP? Or take the output from the Bose amp, feed that into the DSP (fix the delays, re-EQ everything), then out to my aftermarket amp and back into the other side of the outputs from the Bose amp back to the front speakers? The goal is to use a 5 channel amp to power front door speakers + dash speakers + a new subwoofer. Retaining the factory head unit, has the navigation + hard drive. Thanks.

Are you replacing the factory head unit? If yes, then run wires to the DSP and then you could use the inputs to the Bose amp (temporarily). I would recommend doing the DSP and amplifier at the same time AND replacing the head unit if you have not done so already. I would then run the output from the aftermarket head unit to the DSP and then send the signal to the amplifier. Use the amp outputs to output wires from the Bose amp. Do not even mess with the input side of the amp since you will be bypassing it with a DSP and amp anyway.

@@Amundred retaining the factory head unit, unfortunately! If I was getting rid of the factory head unit it would make life simpler for sure. I could just take the outputs from the Bose amp --> into the DSP --> make any changes in the DSP --> Out to aftermarket amplifier --> back to cut output wires and to speakers

@@idfront1 the issue that you may run into is that the Bose system has a DSP "built in" and this could cause some sound quality issues.

@@Amundred I wonder if I can find where the Bose DSP is located, I know it used to be part of the amp itself, not sure if it still is. That's where I was thinking of grabbing the signal at the Bose inputs. Makes the install in my Volvo seem simple - Add a Helix SDMI25 to the MOST interface, done.

@@idfront1 yeah...this Bose system is a pain to deal with! The issue with the inputs to the amp on the CTS is that they are low level inputs that I ran into was that there was static when using them as the input to the aftermarket amplifier. I am not sure what caused this issue...it is possible that it was the aftermarket door chime box that is a part of the Metra kit. You could definitely attempt to use the inputs that you asked about and see if you have the same issue or not... definitely let me know either way as I am very curious!

You would probably want to find a wiring diagram to double check the wires, but yeah, it would be a very similar process!

I'm just curious about the subwoofer in the trunk. Do u happen to know if their is a wireing harness u can get to switch it to an aftermarket subwoofer

@Amundred im just trying to switch the sub but their is a harness on it and not sure y its their i dont see any pos and neg wires to it like a normal sub would have. I know for most vehicles its just the pos and neg though

@@jsfkmm ah...I am not sure if there is an adapter harness. Most likely you would need to cut the wires and then connect them to the aftermarket sub. The wiring going to the sub should be: Light Green (-) Blue/white (+)

Morning, I tried to use your wiring diagram and it won't come up. I tried using a 9 conductor speaker wire and wire Alpine 650 directly and now no sound...

Yes, unfortunately there will need to be a run of wire to bypass the amp completely. The main reason I did this was that the factory amp was failing in the vehicle so it had to be done anyway.
