Fred is fantastic and his family too but I am against "wild" animals taken in house, that is bad for different reasons: these individuals have been kidnapped from their habitat, they or their ancestors, although loved and well kept, they do not have an ideal habitat to live in and they lack the company of other individuals of the same species. The smuggling of these poor individuals is encouraged and lastly they have not co-evolved for thousands of years with the human species as has happened with dogs for example.

I have a veiled chameleon they aren't hard pets to have. I'd you handle them from babies to touch and handling and bring outside of their enclosure their awesome...

They arnt hard. And arnt hard*Y*. They live like 5-8 years. Also, theg arnt that friendly. This dood looks like he is happy. Although some clips his face was black because he was threatened

As a chameleon owner these guys are fragile until you get the hang of it! In the beginning it’s a lot of money and time but it smooths out. Especially with a good vet. - Casper and his chameleon, Ezekiel

They are wonderful pets but please do your research! They are super sensitive and require INTENSE care. This one in the video shows stress colors several times, and seems to have a deadly disease called MBD which I’m assuming is from poor husbandry based on what I’ve seen in the video. It should have a tall straight casque on its head. The people in the video put it in so many stressful situations, this is NOT how you should care for a chameleon

they're actually a lot happier and more enriched in enclosures meant for them, with the proper heat, light, and humidity control. this video is a couple putting their extremely stressed out chameleon (you can tell by the colouring and curling tail) into random situations it doesn't want to be in, and filming it. it isn't exploring, it's stressed out. chameleons are not dogs, and they require vastly better conditions than this to be truly happy.

Chameleons mainly change their color to blend in when they don't feel safe. So his beautiful coloring shows his trust in his humans to keep him safe

Chameleons change color like a mood ring. They also get darker to absorb more heat. Yes, there is blending in involved, but it's not always the case.

He shows stress colors several times in this vid. His casque is crooked. This chameleon isnt very well cared for. Most of the video shows it being put into stressful situations. This video saddens me, regardless of the upbeat, happy music which hides the cluelessness of the owners.

Hate to break it to you but as someone who has owned chameleons for several years, this isn’t a good lifestyle for a chameleon. He’s clearly stressed out in most of the video and stress significantly shortens their lifespan. These two adults clearly know nothing about their chameleon and are treating him like a toy rather than how they should be - which is left alone. The sun bathing is fine but too much handling isn’t good at all. Think of it as a fish, you can look but you REALLY shouldn’t touch.

He's so cute! You should get him a fidget cube. It's got all kinds of things with different textures and sounds, and you can paint the sides different colors. It might help him relax during vet visits.

Only ever saw chameleons from the side, never know how long and lean they were. Seeing Fred reaching out to touch things like the water droplets and toilet paper was so cute, looked like he was wearing mittens.

Reptiles are curious and extraordinarily smart creatures. The have personalities, love exploring and enjoy spending time with their humans. If anyone tells you otherwise, they’ve never spent any quality time with one. My kids are grown and my reptiles are now my babies. They in turn show me the same kind of affection as I do them. I’ve invested so much time in them, and it has paid off greatly. I have all these adorable scaly little friends who enjoy life with me. They are such rewarding creatures.
