Did you go with double glazed or triple? You say you can feel the warm once they're closed. Wondering if theyre creating a lot more heat because of the greenhouse effect? And whether theyre going to be cold in winter? Contemplating a retrofit and vaulted ceiling in my kitchen
Great view of sky. I think you can get solar blinds fitted too which would be good here in OZ. The only down side with them is how on earth to you clean them? 🤣🤣👍
Not had any faults, one of them needs the battery replacing but as it's winter I'll wait until next year to sort that. I've not had them serviced, but probbably should! So will look for someone to sort the battery and check them over.
Do you still can use de controlpanel? After so many years I can't use it because it can't be powered anymore. Do you know an alternative contoller? Thanks.
I watched a video earlier on and when the skylights are turned on for the first time you have 10 minutes to pair with the window if you don’t you have to press a reset button on the motor in the top of the window and each time you do this it will give you another 10 minutes to try again 👍
You can use a conservation flashing on a standard velux to give it a flush look but a conservation velux has a black external finish with a glazing bar which if your in a conservation area might stick out like a sore thumb
Solar Panel and batteries on them will fail after 8 years. The new packs are 220 quid each window, before fitting. So 3 windows that is 660 quid. Get a pole and a manual window. Much better.
Mark, What if one is going away for an extended trip, can one lock shut the windows so that they do not open, under any circumstances, until one activates them through the remote when one returns. And if the answer is in the affirmative, please tell me how it is done. Thank you, Helen
Hello, The windows have two closed modes, 1) window closed but allowing a trickle of air in 2) window closed and no trickle. In both modes the window, from the outside, is fully closed and locked. If you have the touch screen remote you will see on the bottom left there is a lock symbol. Drag the slider to the left of that and the windows are closed and locked. I think there is a mode that automatically opens the trickle vent periodically to let fresh air in, I can see that being useful while away however I've not used it. On the inside you can always open the window without the remote by pulling the bar in the same way you would a manual Velux window.
