I tried these string last week . Good strings for thin top instruments , and good articulation too . On an old Mirecourt with thick top , I found spirocore sounds much better ;)

Stringmatrix Velvet Stings will get their machines fixed. The Stainless Steel Wound Silk Core Strings are special in tune.

Curious if these are similar to the new Tempera strings.

Hi, a new subscriber here. Thanks for the videos you are posting, i like them a lot. Can you explain what is the best mic position to reduce bow noises? I have an AT2035 but when i record arco it sounds a lot of bow noise. Should i consider buying a piezo microphone or it can be solved? What's the best for arco players? it's more about positioning? Thanks

Hi Hervé ! A long time since our Myspace (?) connexions ! I keep bad souvenir of Compas 360 wrapping which let black fingers after each playing. Did you try them ?) I've plaid on Anima for many years. Their sound stay very good even after 7 years ! On your website, I hear a better sustain on Velvet blue than 180. Am I wrong ? Cheers. Roland

Hi, thank you very much for your videos. I am a user of Velvet Garbo, and unfortunately I just learned that they have ceased operating. The wound of my strings are coming getting loose at some position and I am using tape to hold them in place. Their airy sound and the low end richness is certainly very special.... Of all the strings you have reviewed, which one would you say come close to Garbo? I have asked string shop and they have recommended Pirastro Evah Pirazzi Slaps / Perpetual. The Pirazzi Slaps seems to have quite similar sound but a shorter decay, and the Perpetual certainly sounded very interesting too, with a clear and rich tone but not as cutting as the Spirocore (I have been using Spirocore Mittel initially, they sound too bright especially on the G to me), can you give your opinion on these? Just had my E string snap on my set of Compas 180’s. Can’t seem to find a replacement set anywhere. Do you have any recommendations as to something suitably similar?

Stringmatrix These Strings are Silk wound in Stainless Steel. Good News Velvet Strings will be making strings again someday.

I hate Velvet, hate Gerald Genssler and his overpriced crap called Sonores and Tempera, too
