Thanks for speaking TRUTH Dr. J!! Yes, medical care is expensive but if you want it done correctly it's best to seek professionals who have experience in what they are doing. For me personally I prefer that the individual have years of experience in their field and most importantly that they have a GENUINE concern for the patient's well being. Please only trust trainers, martial arts instructors, out door guides, etc who can be vetted. It takes years of experience and training to become professionals in these activities.

As a nail tech I would never work out of my scope. But those techs are out there. Thanks for calling it out. It's dangerous. And new clients with these conditions will start to expect us nail techs to "fix" their issue.

I am a retired nail tech, I can tell you that unlicensed people practice in my profession as well. They are also using illegal products (MMA) on nails. so glad I don't have to compete with them anymore. A whole industry down the tubes.

Licensed nail tech here. It's illegal for us to work on fungal nails in California, or to use any kind of blades but some do it anyway.

What is the major issue with techs putting on false toenails. Especially when you cut the toenails down. What is wrong with the application of acrylic to that nail? How does it make the nails worse? What are some of the problems that it can cause?

Teeth need enamel to protect against decay and sensitivity to temperature. Any enamel removal, as required in the veneer application process, is irreversible. It does not grow back. Once veneers are installed, you have teeth that now require MORE dental visits to ensure your compromised enamel and teeth stay healthy, as they are at a greater risk for behind-the-veneer decay. Oh, and veneers aren't forever. They do deteriorate/have a lifespan and need replacement every decade or so. Make sure you save up money for each eventual re-do. And if decay sets in and gets into your jaw? Have you ever priced a dental implant? Or, seeing the price quote, have the tooth pulled and live with a hole in your smile?

I do not do social media much. Lately I have seen "supposedly medical professionals" offering free diabetic webinars to reverse diabetes, curing neuropathy, weight loss, etc. Sure, the webinar may be free, but the supplements, creams, and so forth are not. The other thing the nearest place I can get diabetic shoes is an hour away. I would first have to see the podiatrist (I already have one). Second trip for fitting and final trip to pick up shoes. My Podiatrist stop fitting and ordering diabetic shoes because Medicare does not pay them in a timely manner. I actually did the research and found the place to get shoes .😢 I shared that info with my podiatrist and primary because I figured other people are trying to find diabetic shoes. My doctor told me to get Brooks shoes. They are OK but I still have to purchase a shoe insert for support. What Are elderly, low income people suppose to do????

I heard it said that a sucker is born every minute! First sucker is the person who takes these 22 hour classes and think they are licensed to do what they think they’re trained to do! That’s money wasted. And the other sucker is the people who use their services. That’s money wasted, when if you go to a licensed doctor to get health services, that’s money saved and health in tact. Hi occasionally follow a lady who is well an known Manicurist .When somebody comes in with pincher nails, she does a manicure and then she applies material on the nail up around the cuticle. She claims this material will make the nail grow normal. I personally think it’s a hoax. She has people coming back often to do manicures and she reapplies material in the manner. She often implies , and she is at odds with podiatrist treatments.

Thise toenail techs are using products not specifically made for toenails. Acrylic shoukd NEVER go on toes because toes flex and you need a product that also flexes. There are approved prodcuts to reconstruct toenails and use as vands to help with pinchers etc but these products require a nail tech license to buy and you have to take the training. There are also maintence steps that your client must do inorder to get the service. I peronally refer clients to podiatrist and require a note to be cleared for any feet that dont look healthy. The reason why you are seeing so many veneer aka acrylic toe techs is because the actual product madr for feet is exspebsuve and has a learning curve and they would have to charge more. Those techs arent charging more Dr. Trust but if they were using the right products they could. They dont care aviut the health and maintence of their clients

Same with other cosmetic procedures too. People from the U.K. go to other countries because it’s cheaper & the tax payers end up having to foot the bill for botched jobs done abroad. I don’t understand why people don’t do their homework before doing these things.

I wish you were here in Idaho and did fingernails. I saw two dermatologists for fungai on middle left and pointer right.. One was for the nails who put me on meds for it (turbinafine?), and the other dermatologist for a HORRIBLE 3-mo rash. No one including my rheumatologist seems to think it's a big deal, but all of a sudden they're out of control, darkening, and bloody.😢 They look like something from a horror movie😞 I give up because I'm on a fixed income, so they play "kick-the-can" with me a lot. Anyway... I'm glad the people with podiatry issues have you over there. They are VERY BLESSED! 🙏🏻👋🏻👍🏻🫂💜🏆🥇
