Today we are veneering the center panel for the front door project using shop sawn walnut veneer, and attaching the patinated copper panel from last week.

I love the look of that copper! If you ever need to slice large veneers, just hit me up. I think my bandsaw has 19" of clear height at the throat... It's pretty stressful sawing at that height, but with two sets of hands, its a lot less nerve wracking.

Thank man, I will keep that in mind! Totally agree the pucker factor is strong when with that much blade exposed

I see you are still buying blue tape by the box rather than the roll 😁

How does this even work with gluing veneer that wants to expand to plywood that doesn't? I'd like to do something like that with endgrain veneer but am afraid since endgrain veneer wants to expand even more in all directions. Greetings from Estonia - love all your work

Thanks, Since the plywood is thin layers and they alternate gain direction up down then left right, it locks the layers together and slows down wood movement. Since the veneers I am adding are thin as well, my layer will too have minimal movement. I'm not sure how this would work as an end grain veneer, but I'm sure with a little experimenting, you could probably figure out how to make it work.

Are you using a veneer adhesive/glue or just a standard wood glue? Great videos love the detail of what and why.

Thanks, I use Titebond coldpress veneer adhesive.

How thick do you do your veneers?
@Benham_Design

Depends on the needs of the project. These ended up a little under and 1/8" thick. I think 1/8" is probably the thickest I'd dare go before I would start treating it as solid wood.
