I think the problem with this movie was the rating. the character of Carnage is a character that is handled in a darker tone, since he is one of the most violent villains in Marvel.

There are differences between the movie and the comics: - In the comics, Cletus has no emotions. he is a completely ruthless person. - In the comics, Cletus burned down the orphanage when he was a child, killing the other orphans. - in the comics, Cletus got the symbiote when he and Eddie were cellmates. Venom went in search of Eddie and joined him to escape, but a piece of Venom remained in the cell and mixed with cletus' blood, creating Carnage. - In the comics, Cletus and Carnage are fully compatible. they are a perfect symbiosis

When carnage says let there be carnage, the whole theater shook it was so amazing

Loved this movie. I will say though, if Venom is gonna be with any spiderman, I'd prefer it with Andrew. His films handled the darker tone way better in my opinion and he's closer in age to where it would be more believable than Venom fighting/teaming with a "kid"

The Hair of Cletus was changed because there was significant negative reception from his curly haired look at the end of Venom 1.

This is such a fun buddy comedy action horror film! I enjoyed it very much, no matter what people say about it.

What I like about this film is that it just gives zero craps about what the average superhero film is supposed to be these days. It wanted to be silly and full on went for it, ot being influenced by the MCU or DCU.

I loved both Venom films. You really have to look at them the same way you look at the Deadpool films. Just expect the craziness...it's part of the charm. You can't take them too seriously. But then can you really take any of the MCU stuff seriously either...they are all based off a bunch of unrealistic fantasy stories...so.

I’d argue that venom IS stronger than carnage because carnage relies on his tentacles but early on in the fight venom is using those to his advantage to manipulate his movements

“You can bite off someone’s symbiote and get some?” No, symbiotes reproduce asexually. In the comics Eddie and Cletus were cellmates so when Venom came to bond with Eddie he left behind an offspring which bonded with Cletus and became Carnage. The biting thing was this movie’s weird way of getting Carnage to Cletus since he and Eddie aren’t cellmates Apparently Carnage using the symbiote to hack the internet is a thing in the comics but it doesn’t make any sense Carnage is my favorite Marvel villain so I was hopeful for this movie. And I thought it was fun but killing off Cletus at the end was the worst decision they could’ve made. Because this movie sets up a follow up that I’m very skeptical they’ll be able to make sense. In the Venom Carnage run Officer Mulligan becomes Toxin, and he uses his symbiote for good but lets it have a few hours of “playtime” at night. In that run Venom is still a villain and he joins forces with Carnage to fight Spider-Man and Toxin. So that poses the question: in Venom 3 is Toxin gonna be the villain? Cuz that wouldn’t make sense to his character. Or is Venom gonna be the villain? Which again wouldn’t make sense with the narrative Sony is going with. So without Carnage it all kinda just falls apart. But hopefully they prove me wrong

This is a movie that has me convinced they have children in the writers room.

This movie made me think that the writers or the higher up’s at Sony are on some good smoke and are just strange in every way. I think it makes people think twice about how good the first one actually was. Too much studio interference with how they wanted the film to be made instead of how Andy Serkis wanted it. An R rated horror themed film with a lot of dark themes and gore.

There is a good reason for the end credit scene, but Idk if you have seen NWH yet so I will not spoil it (even if there isn’t the full explanation). But to be honest even tho the movie wasn’t great I really love Carnage here, he is just insane and I’am here for it, also his design is so stunning (unlike Riot’s which was really ugly and weird). And even tho this movie wasn’t good that much, some scenes were just amazing (especially those in the cathedral).

In the comics, Patrick Mulligan is one of the hosts for Toxin; the child of Carnage. Toxin is so strong, it takes both Carnage and Venom to take him down. He gets 3 hours of "Playtime" every night. He's not allowed to kill during his time out. He does try to be a good guy.

To answer your question as to why Cletus got Carnage, symbiotes reproduce asexually so you could kinda say that venom was ''pregnant'' and Cletus bit Eddie at the right exact time

My one problem with this movie is the fact that Cletus' and Carnage's relationship isn't symbiotic, in the comics they had a perfect bond the strongest bond of all symbiotes. The cop Mulligan is going to become Toxin the spawn of Carnage stronger than both Venom and Carnage.

I enjoyed this film, the only thing I found very cringe was the final "We are, THE LETHAL PROTECTOR!" moment lol I think it would've been acceptable if they said 'We are Venom' but that's just me, I'm looking forward to seeing more Symbiote characters in the future hopefully :) also the Detective in the end becomes the host of another Symbiote called Toxin.

The Cop is officer Mulligan who becomes Toxin in the comics. I believe we are going to see Toxin in the 3rd movie. Toxin is one of my favourite symbiotes in the comics. He's probably the strongest symbiote. Toxin is also Venom's grandson. I don't know if we are going to see Venom fights Toxic alone, or Venom is going to team up with someone. Why not Carnage? I believe Carnage is pretty badass to keep him dead and i hope they'll bring him back. I heard a theory that Eddie is going to take Anti-Venom symbiote and will team up with Spidey somehow to fight Toxin. I don't know how, but it would be so epic!

While not so faithful to the comic book origins and stuff of Carnage, I do think this one is a lot better than the first Venom. Which I did still enjoy. But this one is quite good. Maybe I'm easy to please, but I loved Woody Harelson's performance and loved the relationships in this movie tbh. Is some of the writing a bit cheesy? Yeah it is, but it doesn't take away from some pretty solid performances by all the cast.

I think 1 is def bettter then 2 but, two has such good moments that i just love it as a movie about Venom. if only it was 18+ then we would have Carnage!!
