If women's tennis had matches like this maybe I'd consider watching. What a massive difference in quality these days, the shot making here is incredible
I loved it when that little but technically superior and highly intelligent Justine Henin beat bigger and more powerful players like the Williams sisters. She was a joy to watch.
The angles and the versality both players produce in this match was just amazing. If only it had been to a 3 sets it would have been considered by many as the greatest Womens match ever
Henin is probably top two mental strength with Serena in this millennium of women’s tennis (Maria is up there too). She seems to raise her level when the score gets tight, whereas mere mortals either get cagey, erratic, or let go of effective tactics. Off the top of my head some gutsy wins for her other than this match are AO 4R 2003, French Open 4R 2005, Olympics semi 2004 and WTA finals 2007.
@@doriangray2020 why do you have to make this something racial, that comment is just about tennis ..and yes she was technically superior to a lot of players including the williams even tough she was less powerful...color has nothing to do with it ..wake up
@@nicolaswallerand507 Justine was a strong player as well. She just wasn’t big in size, but she could rip forehands and some serves. She was also very fast at getting to the ball. I think her timing and shit selection brought her game together. I never really cared for her personality at all though, but she was the Roger Federer of women’s tennis.
As talented as Venus was, I have rarely seen her use angles against top players after 2007 or so. It seems she hits it clean and hard and deep, but it's always just a few feet away from opponents ... they never have to move much
Iga fans must watch this video, that their gal is playing in a elementary school level tennis right now and winning slams and titles. She can't win even a 125k title if she played against these giants.
