I read a poem titled Return of the Subjunctive. I had to look it up and found this vid. I am a retired inner city middle school teacher. In my years of teaching, I was never encouraged to teach grammar, spelling, or correct usage. It was all whole language. I admire the structure that is presented here. Among my better teaching moments are the times I taught traditional spelling and grammar on my own, unbeknownst to the Admin. Good for you
I'm familiar with that poem. And I remember when whole language came on to the scene. We were told to put away grammar, spelling, and phonics books. Big mistake. Thank you for your comment.
Neat, educational video. Clear facts, clean and intelligently placed+designed video/slide transitions. This teacher herself UNDERSTANDS and KNOWS and by the Grace of Mother Saraswati, has the knack of transmitting her knowledge to others in an easy manner. Good video! THANKS...
Perfectly broken down and explained exhaustively .It shows the amount of dedication and efforts put into this video . Impressed by your work , really spellbound by your teaching style.
Thank you ma'am you are great 👍 I could understand everything perfectly my teacher also didn't teach like this. I'm a new subscriber 😄♥️ I hope this channel would reach 1M ASAP I hv suggested this channel to all my friends. Thanx have a great day 😀 😊
Heartiest thanksgiving 🌷💐🏵️ mam. I'm from north Indian state Bihar. A lot of Conceptual crystal clear......🙏🏽🙏🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳 There are no such any trainers, who could teach as you. ....
Mary suggested that Carlos work with her Mary suggested Carlos to work with her or Mary suggested Carlos work with her? If we drop "that" does the sentence remain unchanhed or do we have to add "to"?
If need be, i will revisit this video but more to the point, if i were you i would say 'Press the Like button' more often. heaven forbid if this isn't one of the best videos out there.
Thanks this helps a lot for the state test tomorrow glad your can help and that my teacher assigned this because I really want to get my permit and license
Mam I didn’t understand “the clause” In conditional statement, one hypothetical or contrary to fact , the main clause is in the conditional while the subordinate clause is in the subjunctive???
can we just ignore the rule when it comes to adjectives? i heard it is possible to use the -s ending that we all got used to in the sentences with adjectives
Hi mam, I have a question. What's the main difference between these TWO sentences. 1. I want him to do it or I want him to go. I want he do it or I want he go. Please explain.please please
It's ok but I want more clarification about these; I suggest him to exercise and I suggest he exercise. With little bit explanation I can better understand the difference. Please clarify it.
@@durgaraobattula143 You're better off using saying: I suggest that he exercise. The verb suggest is tricky because it's not followed by an indirect object pronoun.
"Be that as it may" is the same as "nevertheless" and "far be it from me" is used to clarify to someone that you do not want to criticize or disagree with them.
