This channel is becoming a "variety show" that's somehow, entirely keeping within a single theme and mood, and yet incredibly varied in it's forms of media. There's lore, fandom, gun-nut stuff, music, poetry, and original composition. And all of it feels dark, niche, and obscure. I love seeing what you've done with the place in the last year. :)
Getting away from greentexts and doing what I really want to do has been the best thing I've done for the channel. Thanks for sticking around so long, man.
i think i saw this concept in like, art theory ? (it was on a video about art) and it said that when creating a niche you have to combining it to other, not niche things in order to be appealing and to be relatable (for example VAs using greentexts prompts) but what burialgoods is making is i think creating a niche, which is incredible to see, those new colors, new sounds, new shapes, can't appreciate it enough ^^
The year is 1968. You are a CIA special operative floating down the Mekong River searching for Colonel Kurtz. You cannot escape the horror. The horror.
@@CrabO2 It's a direct line from a movie called "Apocalypse Now." Don't ask any more about it, go watch it. Anything else anyone might say in the comment section runs the risk of being spoiler. :P The movie has 7 different endings, so if you can, rent or buy the Special Edition DVD with all the different directors cuts included. You won't come away feeling like he same person you were, before you saw it. :)
I love Apoc Now because I try to figure how my father fit into the insanity of the Vietnam War. He luckily survived a tour in '69 as a Green Beret officer. I figure he was probably most like Willard, but had bits of Kilgore in him. He is 78 years old now and still rolling.
This channel has only one theme: obscurity. Nothing is ever the same. Everything is similar, yes, but one video may be reading a greentext, the next, shooting some targets, and after that, some uncomprehendable bullshit human eyes were never meant to see. And every day, day after monotonous day, I love it.
It's so interesting how the first sentence gives a feeling that that 'thing' was so horrifying that you will never be able to forget it, yet the second sentence gives a feeling that that thing will always be after you, even though it could very easily be the other way around. Just goes to show humanity's inherent fear of the unknown.
@@Jsisbskanndnd has it started suggesting the restoration of Call Me by Alvin and the Chipmunks thats slowed down to the speed they recorded it at the end yet? It suggests it to me everytime i watch this again 🤣
This half of the channel reminds me a lot of the experimental BBC stuff that would end up on PBS right before signoff when I was like 3 at the end of the 70s. It's intriguing to never know what the hell you're watching but having it feel very familiar.
From Sermons, To Emperors, To Shitposting. Truly the Voice Actor Journey. Doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy this variety, most certainly a welcome change of pace to how boring YT usually is. Keep it up :)
Old footage it of itself is horror. The idea of something that no longer exists. The grainy distorted footage. It’s almost like how the song “Its a Burning Memory” is supposed to invoke a feeling of mental decay this feels the same.
@@burialgoods Then we are brothers! I've got Rainbow Nights, Spectral Ecstasy, Kaleidoscope Dreams, Burning Bridges, and the Black Abyss recomp all on vinyl, I've got the color variant CDs for the first 3 and I've got the standard BB CD and the tape, I've also got a couple shirts that I very much cannot wear in public lolol. Hell I'm wearing the Burning Bridges jacket as I write this, those guys are musical geniuses! Not a painting fan though lol, if you catch my drift, just really really really like their psychedelic doom-black alt metal sound or whatever the hell you wanna call it, the naughty themes are just an added touch of transgressive that really salts it to perfection.
@@burialgoods I really dug Burning Bridges, it was a little bit different, cleaner maybe, but to me it's such a perfectly assembled album I find it hard to listen to any one song, I always end up listening to the whole thing. Dinosaurs is a personal favorite though, I love the shirt too and that one I can wear in public lolol. I really hope we keep getting stuff from those guys, I would weep if they randomly fell off the map, cuz like you said there really isn't anything like them out there.
No words need to be spoken for a story to be told, this makes me think of trip down a river where something terrible has happened, or rather something terrible is waiting for them. The silence is palpable
Hey quick question. I keep hearing this wood block sound, although faint it sounds almost unintended. Is there a chance the software or mic carried over the metronome with the music?
"No matter how many times I close my eyes, it's always there. I'm back, and there's napalm in my nostrils and sweat and ash in my eyes. The LT is screaming and I'm standing there, in the middle of the kill box, just... not there. Taking it in, like a movie camera..." "I still think you should have taken the bullet, instead of Roscoe," the other man immediately snipes, reaching across the table and finishing off the bottle of Beam without a second thought. The first man continues staring at his burning cigarillo, almost as if to read the cherry on it. "...I know."
not sure if it’s EXACTLY what you’re looking for, but the Vampire : The Masquerade- Bloodlines soundtrack strikes a similar chord with me personally :)
I don't know why but the beginning made me think burial was gonna spit some mad bars about the nature of man or some shit 🗣🗣💥💥🔥🔥🔊🔊🔊 P.s great song, ominous vibes
I could almost hear Isaac Brock singing in this. It has that Boards of Canada sound to it, but somehow I could almost hear Isaac Brock singing about life.
My phone had a moment loading this video where both the video and everything below it were blacked out, and I got one of those RU-vid Survey ads, and I didn’t even question the music. I just accepted it as part of the video until the ad loaded and actually appeared. Either your aura is just Like That or my brain is cooked
Hey, could I use this song as the main menu theme for a Friday Night Funkin mod I'm making? It's still in early development so I'm not sure if I will keep it as this song but if I do I will be sure to credit you
