Emily Lanxner of Hardwick, the creator of Honeybee Steelband, said that she shifted the band’s focus to activism in 2015 in response to what she characterized as “alarming” pesticide use in Vermont and its effects on pollinator populations.
“I just thought, you know what, this is an issue that I could focus on and really make a difference. Because what I do with music could be a really good fit for bringing people together on this issue,” Lanxner said.

Asshole: actually it serves to bring people together on an important message that desperately needs more civic engagement in order to make the necessary legislative adjustments to change our system of chemical agriculture, thereby protecting pollinators and promoting sustainable food supply on our beleaguered planet... Every little bit helps.
