Versus Series: Exar Kun Vs. Luke Skywalker (Dark Empire) 

Actually when Luke was battling Darth Sidious for second time I can understand why some people would think that Leia was using Battle Meditation but in reality she was using Force Harmony which is a technique that helps one focus there mind and prevent dark side temptation however it does not increase ones physical attributes in battle. Therefore Luke defeated Darth Sidious with his own power, strength and skill.

Man I got excited at the idea of this match and you pulled it off with flying colours!

Remember when Luke tried to use this power at 21:22 in Star Wars The Last Jedi and he died because of it. Wow legends version does it and it's not even a problem

I would have to give this to Exar Kun. Not because he's better than Luke. But, rather because of 1) Lightsaber form and unorthodox styling. Luke has never fought anyone with a Sabre-Staff. The second Exar goes from orthodox standard Lightsaber to unorthodox sabre staff. Luke will end up on his back foot. And most likely start drawing upon his force powers. 2) Speaking of force powers, assuming Exar has all his amulets. Exar is going to show Luke a side of the force that he has never seen before. I don't see Luke adapting to sabre staffs and "Freaking Lazor Beams from the hands" before Kun basically overwhelms him. I would give Kun a 6/10 Victory.

Luke couldn’t defeat Exar Kun’s spirit without the rest of the Jedi praxeum and Vodo. Despite what many ppl like to think, Kun was actually weaker as a spirit due to the wall of light. Kun wins this.

Rico, when I first saw this I said to myself "Exar Kun". Then I saw it was "Dark Empire" Luke, and I said "not even close". I found your research excellent, and your presentation, as always, extremely well done. This was a very good video, and I enjoyed it very much. Thank-you, Dante.

A side note: Sidious did not "drive back" Windu, but fought him on an impasse. Sidious was disarmed by Yoda.

Ugh... Dark Empire. One of the few EU storylines I'm glad to be rid of. Good video, well researched and funny but somewhat obvious outcome. Exar Kun is badass but he's not on Sidious' tier while Dark Empire Luke was. Probably would have been more interesting to run Kun against Luke circa The Last Command for a closer fight. I also think he might be solid competition for Caedus, Krayt or Bane. *Especially* Krayt.

K, a lot of wrong information here out of the gate that could lead to people overrating Exar Kun. First, the fight between Kylo Ren and Rey had a similar description to being heard from far off in the distance, miles I think it was. Second, he did not PUNCH his way through a wall of beskar. XD He turned his custom-made lightsaber to its highest output setting, and was also aided by the spirit of Freedon Nadd in breaking down that wall. Yes, Sylvar moved faster than Nomi could react... FAR before Nomi's prime, even before she had training in the Force. While this is still an impressive feat of Sylvar's, the above is important to note. You're combining Exar Kun's Sith spirit's feats with Exar Kun's while he was alive? They are two entirely different beings when it comes to power and ability. Kun's Sith spirit was made far more powerful than he was while he was alive due to a ritual he did, which infused his being (his spirit really) with the power of thousands of Massassi sacrificing themselves. Exar Kun, by his prime when he was alive, was said to be FAR more powerful than any one Jedi of that time. Exar Kun as a Sith spirit would have been drastically more powerful than even that. However, as I already said, they are two different beings when it comes to what each was capable of, and to combine both their feats as one combatant against Luke simply isn't fair. You either have Exar Kun while he was alive vs. Luke, or Exar Kun as a Sith spirit vs. Luke. Despite what I said above, this match-up is a very good one, and overall, this was a very good video, and I agree with the outcome.

Good video and I agree with the verdict, but I think there is something worth mentioning about Luke briefly defending himself from Sidious in ROTJ. In the Thrawn trilogy it is revealed that Sidious was using battle-meditation on all soldiers of the empire at Endor. While it is reasonable to assume he stoped it when seriously endangered by Vader, I doubt he did so against Luke. This would mean that a sizeable portion of his power was diverted to battle-meditation when Luke managed to briefly defend himself, especially considering that even jedi masters often can not even really move when concentrating on battle-meditation.

Very good video but I have to disagree. Kun would defiantly defeat DE Luke. At this point in his development, DE Luke is a mid tier council master in terms of dueling skills and power in the force. Kun is top tier. Luke does not have any familiarity with Kun's archaic sabetstaff nor his trakta tactics which would def off balance him, allowing Kun to maximize his shock and aw tactics. Add this to the fact that Kun is the more skilled duelist. In force abilities, Kun is more powerful and has more abilities at his disposal. If Kun can penetrate Odan Urr's tk barriers, then DE Luke isn't that much of a challenge. Though I do concede that Luke is more skilled in his application, Kun's greater power gives him a definitive advantage. Also, Luke's force illusions probably wont affect Kun given the he is versed in the art as well. While Luke could possible deflect Kun's lightning with tutaminis, Kun has the force power blasts of his amulet which Luke has no experience dealing with. Your breakdown is solid, I just feel you are selling Kun short of his skill, power, and variety of unorthodox powers and skills he carries.

I'd say Luke. Kun was stated to be far below Malak. Luke managed to fight Sidious who was stated to be the most powerful sith in history. Luke also has better TK feats like crushing an AT-AT walker without effort.

I'd say Exar Kun could take Luke 100% easy-peasy all the way up until Luke became a Grand Master. Even then it'd be a big damn battle. Remember, Luke isn't a god and Exar still hadnt mastered every style etc, but if he had, Luke wouldve been in trouble.

What's that soundtrack used during the verdict for their force abilities, it sounds awesome.

I think comparing Kun to a real world example of someone like Mike Tyson is appt. He got alot of wins but not necessarily against elite competition outside of a couple of instances. Whereas Luke fought against force wielders of extreme capability. Id say Luke is appt to a real world example of someone like Michael Jordan. He had the talent and the work ethic to elevate himself. I kind of like finding real world examples to use to compare force users to. And again this is not to disparage Kun as he seems to have a bit of a cult following among SW fans and he is an elite force user. I just dont think he had many instances of ppl who could really push him to his limits. Luke on the other hand cut his teeth against Darth Vader, the sith lord with the highest Jedi kill count in history, Darth Sideous, maybe the most powerful Sith ever. And then you have ppl like Darth Cadeus, Abeloth, the Yuzhang Vong. Luke was constantly running up against high level force users (well, the Vong are technically not but you know what i mean) and it helped make him strong. He became everything his father was supposed to become.

Luke was flying the Falcon through TK? Can I get the quote for that Rico? I'd always thought that was through the manipulations of the Falcon's controls. An amazing control/precision feat but not necessarily one of power. Also he was able to defend from ESB Vader's TK? I'd always assumed that myself but I never had evidence to back it up. Lanoree Brock, Xesh, Daegen Lok, are all really powerful and talented characters that I feel deserve more media attention. Also have you thought about doing an Antares Draco vs? Looking back this is such a mismatch. Dark Empire Luke is equal to, or greater than Vader, since C'baoth was directly compared to Vader, and that was before Dark Empire. Kun does not scale to post Baniteite sith, not even close, especially for the amount of time that elapses.
