For my real 11th entry of my Versus Series I will be pitting two power hungry sword wielding older twins to see who would win if they ever went head to head. The Bandit Chief or The Darkslayer
As a quick amendment Some comenters have actually pointed out to me that Raven and Vergil both Scale to lightining timers. With Raven we see two characters much slower than her explicitly dodge a lightning bolt and with Vergil Dante can react fast enough to block it with his royal guard to be fair this was a telegraphed attack however the amount of speed needed to pull this off would be comparable. Just wanted to clear that up.
Isn't DBS Goku multiverse level or something like that? assuming he is even if you want to say Mundus is universe level (Which I personally disagree with) DBS goku is on a whole other level, he's more comparable to someone like super-boy prime
@@rane932 as their other feats like argosax mere existence was distorting space and time and warping the past and the future and the beastheads being the embodiment of the past, the present and the future and they can affect all of reality which includes all parallel universes and other feats than mundus universal creation also void mundus is muiltversal since he is very comparable to current dante and vergil
I love Raven and Vergil to bits but I have to say that this isn’t even a contest, with Vergil now having his Sin Devil Trigger which is akin to godlike status, it’s not a fight, it’s a massacre
I understand that he could not use DMC5 Vergil because then there would have been no contest but it would have been nice to have an absent father fighting the absent mother
@@elapidpython4378 Yang: “My mother left me.” Nero: “You’re lucky that’s all she did. My dad ripped my arm off turned it into a sword and tried to kill me with it.” Yang: “….” Nero: “I got better.”
*PROVOOOKING, BLACK CLOUDS IN IIISOLAATIOON, I AM RECLAIMER OF MY NAAAAMME, BORN IN FLAMES, I HAVE BEEN BLESSED, MY FAMILY CREST IS A DEMON OF DEATH!!!*
As much as I love Raven the second she sees Vergil and his Lawnchair of motivation she would probably forfeit the battle. No kind of power can handle the Lawnchair it’s plastic is…comforting
Dmc 3 Vergil before fight: Now I'm Motivated! Dmc 3 Vergil after fight: Dante I have acquired a new wife DMC 5 Vergil during fight: Jackpot DMC 5 Vergil after fight: Nero I have acquired a new mother for you *Raven over Vergil's shoulder while unconscious from the blood loss*
@@crystalking784 likely, because after what happened to Eva, he needs his wife to be able to cope with the kind of threats that will come after them, but there's much better out there than Raven Branwen. better fghters, and better people.
You forgot to include the seduction factor because I'm sure any sane woman would start falling HARD as soon as Vergil's Smoking Sick Swagger was shown. 😎❤
Wow, I wonder who well win? Raven, someone who has some fancy magic and is one of the most powerful and skilled Rwby characters vs Vergil, the only person who can be considered Dante's equal. Did you know, in the Dmc 2 novel, which is more of a prequel, Mundus became a much, much more powerful omnipresent void? And Dante killed him easily.
well that maybe true don't forget that Dante and Vergil's move sets somewhat change in the later games which could imply that they taught themselves new techniques.
Fight would legit end in less then 3 seconds with or without devil trigger. He would blitz her with yamato that can literally cut through the fabric of space itself and instantly cut her in half. I don't care how strong her auro supposedly is he would judgement cut her in half before she could blink. He's easily solar system level which no one in rwby is above continental so far.
Yeah even miles wrighter of the show said that if attack is strong aura can be cut like when Adam sliced Yangs arm Vergil could one shot Raven it is not even a debate.
@@bleachablemoments4618 It'd only be temporary... The minute Nero finds out Yang is pretty flippant about her family (especially Ruby nowadays), he'd *absolutely* get on her case about it. And if the argument with Ren proved anything, she can't handle being wrong. Especially if valid points are thrown her way.
@@izzy1356 I'm gonna be honest, I completely forgot about that, as I haven't watched the show in a while. So yeah, you're right, he would have problems with it.
This fight was great and i would love to see an actual fight between these to. In the begin i was like raven wins because you low balled vergil but in the end i was like damn best in the series so far easily number 1. Keep it up man.
I feel this is like with the Bayonneta vs Dante video... She's strong... But we're talking about a extremely powerful Half Demon whose work is killing the very thing that gives the former her powers...
Impressive. I figured you'd dumb Virgil down a peg, given how powerful he gets in 5 it would make sense. I wonder what would happen if you put Sebastian Castellanos against somebody in Resident Evil similar to him, without any boulder punching nonsense. ;P
Honestly, I'd agree with you on how this battle would end, with the caveat that this would ultimately be a battle of attrition between the two of them. By the time this battle does reach it's inevitable conclusion, I imagine they would end up with an audience about halfway through the fight. An audience that would ultimately bear witness to Raven's eventual death at the hands of her younger, demonic opponent. I also imagine that Vergil would finish the fight, not only with the Yamato piercing through her chest, but also with his signature philosophy parting from his lips. A philosophy that, while worded very differently, essentially has a disturbingly similar concept, as the philosophy that Raven herself believes in. The words: "Might controls everything. Without power, you cannot protect anything. Let alone yourself." Being the very last thing she hears, before death ultimately claims her.
Not a half bad video and definitely an improvement from previous ones in audio quality (can actually hear your voice now), tho at points you do repeat yourself and stumble a bit but otherwise not too bad. My only real disagreement with the analysis itself pertains to the experience aspect with Raven having more and this countering Vergil due to him not being as experienced (I may have misunderstood the point and if I did please inform me of it). In both series experience doesn't really factor into fights, in case of DMC Vergil has beaten multiple demons who, at minimum, have 2000 years of experience along with Dante, who has also beaten demons like this and scales to Vergil (at least in he case of 3 and 5). For Rwby, team Rwby beat the ace ops despite the fact they're fully trained military combatants with far more experience than team Rwby, alongside this multiple Grimm (who are stated to get smarter and stronger with age) have been shown to be beaten by other characters in the series, so it can be put into context with Raven that experience isnt really a factor. (Again if I misunderstand please tell me) The point is that Vergil has beaten characters who are more experienced in combat than him, so the experience Raven has doesn't really matter in this fight (although this is a personal thing on my point because experience a character should have in fiction is never really used in fight so I dont really count experience into debates unless it could be massive game changer or the fights are between characters who are ridiculously close in ever aspect or due to other reasons and even then I rarely use it because multiple series have characters fight someone far above them in experience and still beat them).
this is a bad match up Raven can't kill Vergil or fight on par with him Dante may have royal guard but he has only a slight chance of blocking several hit from yamoto. 2. Vergil is psychically stronger than humans especially humans in RWBY since they only have slight differences from regular humans. 3. Vergil is somewhat on a godly tier level while Raven isn't strong enough to beat some one like Teen Gohan
@@dejionfowler2808 that's not true that depends on what Saga of Kid Goku. 21st Budokai Goku would easily Solo RWBY. I mean anyone with a power level of 100 or higher from Dragon Ball would Solo RWBY. I mean someone for pound of with 200 or higher would destroy the Moon.. if we go lower how much power would it take to Simply destroy a country or continent or Island.
Although I'm pretty sure this comment section is dead, I'd still like to comment it to just say that Vergil already won from one factor, let alone any other factor. That being regeneration. As the twin brother of Dante, he should also have the same regeneration factor as Dante canonically. Dante, who gets stabbed in every game besides DMC2 in some fatal way before just shrugging it off. Because of this, I don't even have to look at anything else, Vergil immediately wins because Raven has no real way of killing Vergil, while Vergil has his entire arsenal of weapons being Force Edge(Which he can easily replace with Mirage Edge if we say he doesn't have it), Beowulf, and the signature Yamato. Pretty much, Vergil's additional abilities are just icing on the cake, having a regen factor like that alone would make Vergil already near unkillable and make Raven's chances of winning nil. The most she can get would be a stalemate if Vergil doesn't have any weapons, and even that's a fat chance, considering Vergil can just use his Summoned Swords. Also, about lightning timers, Vergil and Dante destroyed every raindrop around them in a duel in DMC 3, as seen on the game's intro I believe, creating an air pocket where no raindrops existed around them. That's faster than lightning timer, considering they destroyed raindrops that fast before other raindrops could fall into their place and it was an entire area around them and they were both precise enough to do that. And do know that Dante can scale up to Vergil and vice versa as twin brothers, so saying that Dante's royal guard block is as fast as just lightning timers is kinda cutting it under since Dante should be as fast as Vergil, considering that raindrop sequence. And royal guard argument should also be considered that Capcom couldn't make the player just slow down time for those moments to be more accurate to how over the top the brothers are even in DMC3 because gamer control limitations. (I know Quicksilver exists, however, that's a style and you can't have Royal Guard style and Quicksilver together in DMC3 since you can't have two styles together simultaneously) Also if you're wondering why I decided to just comment this, I was bored and wanted to get my thoughts for Vergil out in text.
This was quite an amazing and surprisingly close bout. Great job with your framing and analysis! Yujiro Hamna(Grappler Baki/Baki) vs. Akuma(Street Fighter) and Heihachi Mishima(Tekken) or a Three-way battle between them. Thanks for your time and effort with all of these battles so far.
I would argue with the Idea that Vergil is only self-taught as I believe it is mentioned somewhere although I do not remember where that Dante and Vergil both had been trained by Sparda before his death so they both would have probably been around intermediate skill levels before they would have had to start teaching themselves
@@elapidpython4378 i think it was after there mother died thats how Dante learned royal guard i think keep in mind i don't remember were i heard it though
@@wander1139 after their mother died they both went into hiding so even if there were servents of Sparda out there they would not have had any contact with Dante or Vergil after Eva died as both the brothers were believed to be dead by the general public to my knowledge Sparda trained them with their respective swords that Sparda gave them up on to his death after which is when they would have had to start teaching themselves
Guys I’ll make this real quick Vergil wins Apparently Vergil could’ve won against mucus if he was fatigued So therefore Vergil (DT) > mundus Mundus can wipe out universes and create and destroy infinity realms If u ask me, raven defenitely “has a the strength edge, could hold up in special abilities, skills and force Vergil to his DT” 💀
Tbf, dmc3 Vergil can only beat Mundus when he was still weakened and sealed. But weakened Mundus still scales infinitely higher than anything in the RWBY verse.
Vergil didn't punch a demon into the ceiling, him using the Devil Arm from Beowulf allowed him to do that. -_- Arguing which character is better based on comics, mangas, cartoons, etc is stupid. This is why fighting games like MUGEN exists. It uses character skills and hit-point system to determine the truely strong.
@@drexli7498 You're a fucking idiot. Vergil and Dante get demonic power (devil arms) from defeating a demon which inturn submits into a devil-arm entity. This is fact as anyone can acquire and utilize one so long as they can work with the demon of the demonic armament. Also why do you think every devil arm has a specific ELEMENT associated with the demon it came from, and do you think Dante and Vergil can do fairly much without one? Vergil's power isn't LIGHT-based so get your shit right.
@@Number-bj1yn jeez man you don't have to be offensive anyway their is some problem that something deletes my replies so I will use this account so seems you have mixed my argument cuz what I meant is strength for example in dmc2 novel an alternate version of trish was using alastor as her weapon but she wasn't using as powerful as dante did but so yes the abilities comes from the devil arm but it's strength increases with it's user demonic power to make it strikes more powerful
@@jopred3994 I think you're still being redundant. There's a difference between logic and sometimes PLOT. It's obvious Dante is meant to be casted as the protagonist and heroic figure of the series even though his brother is physically and power-wise equal. The only thing differing is their moral paths, even in gameplay. Also it's Dante's physical strength that helps him HANDLE Alastor better, not his power. It's even so-called said that Rebellion is made to help Dante channel his demonic energy through it like a lightning rod. If Trish could handle Alastor better than Dante to begin with she could overpower and kill him off anytime in the story. So use some fucking sense.
you can't say that neither having a major advantage in the speed department while not mentioning Vergil's DT, and also the only time Vergil seems to put effort into fighting is when he is fighting Dante after the 1st fight on the roof
wow im surprised even without beowulf force edge and sin devil trigger Raven cant still beat Vergil he is just that strong even when nerfed also Could you do a sequel to this fight Dante Vs Qrow or Ragna The Blodedge from Blazblue vs Qrow since both similar weapons bad luck siblings etc
while Vergil does have those in gameplay you have to remember that canonically he never had Beowulf or force edge at the same time and he only ever had those weapons for his second and third fights with Dante respectively after which he lost both weapons to Dante however ya preventing him from having SDT was just to nerf him
The first cutscene in Devil May Cry 1 explicitly says Sparda died and none of the other games contradict that. While i'm sure he COULD be alive if Capcom wanted to go down that rout i'm going to assume he's dead until the series explicitly says otherwise. Nevan uses lightning in her attacks but most of her projectiles are bats infused with lightning, her only attack that was actually lightning fast was highly telegraphed meaning Dante didn't actually need to move as fast as lightning, really he just needed aim dodge Nevan, not the lightning.
The Royal Guard thing is actually something I overlooked, thanks for pointing that out to me. But another commenter actually just pointed out that Raven scales to lightning timers so it's still pretty even. as for the sparda thing I'm really just using head canon as like you said officially we don't know what happened
I agree about the outcome and that it's surprisingly close but 16:14, it's true that vergil has no directed feats of dodging lightning but dante in one of his boss fights in dmc3 had to evade lightning and vergil is faster than him while at the same time raven has a few lightning timers she can scale to. But once again I agree to the outcome and I love the video so keep up the good work
Well I don't think Dante ever explicitly dodged lightning another com mentor pointed out that he can perfect guard it with Royal Guard so that checks out, as for Raven scaling to lightning timers I actually didn't remember that and just looked it up, thanks for pointing it out to me.
31 minutes to decide? Easy. Vergil (and Dante alike) can travel more than 206 times *FASTER THAN THE FUCKING SPEED OF LIGHT.* She isn't doing jack shit.
Dante: good job brother, now, will we get paid for this? Like, i need to pay the bills for my shop and you want that new book colection you saw it. Vergil: for amazing thats sounds, yes we will get paid, and helo new book colection
The only connections hers are the fact they both ran off so they didn't have to pay child support Vergil wins because he's more *M O T I V A T E D* (jokes aside he stomps)
Perhaps experience may trump talent but with experience also comes complacency. From the scenario you described, it sounds like she went in there with assumptions in mind and not really prepared for the possibility of a situation she may not be able to handle. Think back to Devil May cry 4 when Dante 1st fought Nero. Dante by this time has years of experience under his belt and went in to fight Nero who isn't as seasoned. Dante ended up getting walloped by Nero because of complacency and assuming Nero was some underdeveloped demon that he could easily thwart. He learned at that end that was definitely not the case. So one could assume that the Raven and Virgil fight was possibly lost by complacency.
An excellent video, and the only thing i personally disagree with your analysis on there use of magic. Vergil doesn't seem to incorporate magic as fluidly into his swordplay as Ravin, nor does he have as much destructive force. I would compare Vergil to Darth Maul, and Ravin to Darth Vader.
Well according just DMC 3 you're right, i mean if we just go off of the cutscenes he's a pure swordsmen, I think it was only on Dante must die that he actually uses his summoned swords in game play and even then it's very limited. My main idea for the magic was DMC4SE and DMC5 which suggests his fighting style was more a mixture of the two, (side note: if you feel like disregarding my use of DMC5 to support my argument I get it as I said I'd be ignoring anything past that point but I personally don't feel he had much time to develop himself as a fighter during the gap between 3 and 5 because he spent most of this time being mind controlled/dead)
This is a deluded video of saying raven has a chance angnist Virgil a far better swordsman and fighter who also a half demon and Angel And for raven a sword gimmick that can change elements of blades and can turn into a bird her portal trick is nurtured since she doesn't have anyone to help with it. Virgil wins that's it terrbile video
