Great commercial about the power of sports. It would be stronger with more disciplined editing. Almost a minute too long, in my view, but I still like the overall feeling and message.
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned that the background music is Metallica's One from the And Justice for All.... album. I only caught the last 15 or 20 seconds of it last night as I flipped over to the Tour highlights but sure as sh** I heard it clear as day. Frickin' FULL of awesome! Well done Versus!
could you imagine listening to this on a ipod or mp3 while you in the middle of a soccer or a football game you and get the ball. few id'e feel terrible for the other team!
@Shuttle89 In Canada, the Tour de France is shown on OLN as a Versus feed. You can't actually view Versus programming in Canada except when networks like OLN carry select Versus content.
@Cayal92 Its by a cellist cover band. Apocalyptica, they do a lot of metallica covers and a lot of there own stuff with just 4 cellos and sometimes a drum set.
Lance is history, but he is also present. I hope he is remembered for more than all the accusations by the naysayers. He is my hero. And Alberto, does NOT deserve to be in this comercial, in my opinion. And Jensi was not an excuse that was the suckiest crah ever.
@34Lyter I don't think people are hating as hunting on the whole... since without it the human race would of died out a long time ago, just it's place in a commercial about sport and triumphing over the odds.
@KalinPopov wether you play at a high level or you just play. Your desire to win will determine what level you'll play...Wether you think you can or you think you can't you're right in both thoughts....which one are you?
Not trying to start a war or anything, but we all come from different parts of the world. We live with different lifestyles. I admit, i love hunting, its a great past time i think. Obviously i know others don't enjoy hunting, thats they're opinion. Where i'm from, without hunting, disease & malnutrition would be huge. A certain # of permits are issued accordingly 2 keep animal populations in check. Theres stuff i don't think i like either, but if i've never done them, I can't really hate can I?
@czechmar Agree with you there, the hunting seems totally out of place in this video. As others noticed, the fishing scenes also take away from the epic quality. Would have been okay if the fish were Great Whites, and as you say, if the hunting involved spears and lions. I can only assume that some committee of corporate suits were involved in those editing decisions.
@czechmar hunting takes alot of practice and patience ,sure youre not lifting heavy weights but could a weight lifter do it right away?no it takes practice

@rickbentley um..i understand what your trying to say....however there are quite a few crazy homless chess masters and grand masters...bobby fisher as you should recall was one of them...and ive seen lots of them at the park playing after they get out of the dumpster...and ive played many....you would have no chance of beating them...and he would easily take your money and make you look like an ass.
@eymoose You're right I haven't watched mma, waste of my time. I guess you dont need balls to ride cause women do it to unlike ufc and mma. And more people than you think enjoy cycling. And Ironman, hard as hell, trust me i know people who have done it many times. I see your points but we are different. I am a triathlete and cyclist so enjoy watching those sports. I don't know what you are but that is what you enjoy. Maybe we should just agree to disagree.
@Phishean Yeah, for sure there are plenty of homeless people smarter than me. My point was to create a character that was both crazy (incapable of winning) and who couldn't afford to lose. I suppose not all homeless people are poor, either. I don't think you can be crazy and be a chess master, however. You may have some mental issues, but you are still very high functioning and therefore not "crazy". Regardless, hunters risk nothing with an opponent who will lose everything. Cowards.
@triathleteprincess well i guess you havent watched mma ever. all of them have balls. looked up iron man like you said. guess picking your foot up and puting it back down can be very difficult. and that whole cyclists are celebrities in europe is probably true. i mean what else do they have there besides soccer? but i work in a sports bar and we litterally cant have cycling on for 2 mins before someone complains about how gay it is.
hunting is on here cause hunting is on the versus channel. but yeah im an environmental science major and hunting is necessary since we've killed all the natural predators cause they eat our domesticated pets and get too close to out multi million dollar track homes. hunting is extremely regulated and penalties include major fines or jail time.
Hunting is a "sport" for cowards. Hunting a deer with a rifle is like playing chess for money with a crazy homeless person -- your "opponent" has no chance of winning and you just look like an ass for cashing in when you win.
