The empire never really had to go against a droid army with such capabilities, so its understandable that they have to have more adaptive tech and not just sheer armor and strength
The Empire's strict adherence to rigidity and inflexibility made it inferior to the Republic. Soldiers and equipment who can adapt easily to rapidly changing circumstances are invaluable and can turn the tide of any battle easily.
I find it funny and sad at the same time that the clone trooper Ridge was with us all the way from the beginning without anybody knowing, just to die at the end by Maul
star wars is darker then what people give it credit for. child soldiers, slaves by birth that are basically children, that practically have no free will of their own.
Uh hello, what about the time a bunch of them were placed on asteroids and used to outflank and attack Grievous’s ships from behind? Aside from this scene, that was one of the coolest and most creative ways to use the AT-TE’s.
It's impressive that he survived as long as he did considering how crazy some of the battles are in The Clone Wars. I'm surprised he wasn't ranked higher considering his experience and he's practically a veteran.
@@jdm4087 well the most logical answer is of course that they forgot about him till now but it so nice that he is in the last arc of the series. If they hadn't forgot about him, I could see him as an sergeant or Arc trooper
1:07 As a kid I thought it was the coolest thing ever that those tanks could climb the mountain And to be honest I still do cause that is still is seriously badass
Thats the funny thing: they have in-built helmet commlinks that enable the troopers to communicate without any outsiders to listen in. They banter constantly, just like they mock some of the superiors for their stupidity. Source: Republic Commando novels.
I don't think a whole lot of people appreciate the badassness that this clip portrays, when Asoka jumps on that ATTE window and starts deflecting shots, and you see that awesome camera angle, those clones are climbing a Fucking wall, probably gripping for their lives and they're still firing at the enemy, obeying orders. That's pretty badass, one of the most badass moments In star wars probably (in my opinion)
1:52 I will never not see this as one of the coolest moments in Star Wars history. Ahsoka deflecting lasers atop an AT-TE that is vertically scaling a fucking cliff is just so bad-ass.
"Concentrate fire on Sector: 11374265!" "1137... What was that again? "Just fire right there!" Remembered that from the whole movie-like film of this years ago :D
A change in their voice is to be expected not only with how long the war had dragged on, but also the experiences they had both gone through as individuals who suffered the loss of many friends who either died on the front lines or sacrificed themselves for the greater good.
0:53 Wow, so that's where Anakin got that phrase. Makes sense he'd use it right after reuniting with Ahsoka on what was probably the best day of his life.
As an 8 year old kid, absolutely loved this movie. As a 21 year old, has lots of flaws, but this scene is still as badass as I remember... Edit: Also 1:53 hits different...
Are you insane? She's a child... So as the trooper, despite looking like an adult. And it may be a surprise to your little brain, but NOT EVERYONE is like you described.
This scene was so cool and really taking the AT-TE to a whole other level of awesome. Just a shame we never see the AT-TEs doing this again in the series.
well they were used as a improvised dropship and got dropped on top of a Separatist cruiser, a few of them formed into an almost impenetrable ring of defense in Geonosis and in season 1 they were deployed on an asteroid field to ambush and outflank Separatist ships.
This will always be a favorite battle scene of mine despite the movies criticisms. The AT-TE scaling the cliff, Ashoka protecting the pilot viewport, and that badass star wars/rock track playing mid battle.
What makes this episode even more sad it that ridge survived this battle and died in season 7 episode 12 🥺😭 he was so close of surviving the whole clone wars as trooper
Remember, the Rebels show is speculated to happen before the original trilogy. Therefore, it is possible that the rebels were building their strength throughout the show to fight big battle likes Hoth, Endor and Jakku.
N05L31 this and the stuff on Christhopsis is all pretty neat, but yeah, the rest isn't that good.. The problem with your second argument is that the rebels timeperiod doesn't have much big groundbattles. Plus, the rebel cell in the show is one that's mainly focused on spaceships
The shot with Rex at 2:54 has always been such eye candy for me, with the AT-TE restabilizing in the background getting ready to make its final advance.
One of the things I like about the Clone Wars era is how many awesome machines were used, the AT-TE right there on top of the list - and the series really made full use of the "AT" part.
I may get crucified for this, but this is my favorite Star Wars movie action wise. This scene, the battle of Christophis, and Dooku VS Anakin are some of my favorite fights in all of Star Wars.
Have to admit, this movie had some cool battle sequences we hardly ever saw again. The red light green light stuff, climbing cliffs, trench warfare on Christophsis etc
just came to watch this after seeing episode 10 of season 7. its insane how far the animation has come since 2007. i was 9 when this movie came out and now im 22 watching the last episodes taking place during Revenge of the Sith. what a crazy ride its been with this franchise.
Heh another fun thing is there is a clone trooper named Ridge which killed in the last episode by Maul in this clip. ("Ridge you got static on your com" In the LAAT gunship. And "Ridge is down!" after he gets sliced to the wall by Maul)
Tried watching this and season one other night. Thought I’d be ok from last episode of season 7. It still hits hard. Seeing the intro of Rex and Ashoka and then remember the end, damn
The funniest and saddest thing is Ahsoka being more considered about beating Anakin in a race than protecting the life of the AT-TE operator. Really says a lot about the Jedi Order 😢
I just love every vehicle l from the clone era. The AT-TE is so unique and the LAAT and Venators are fan favorites. There's just so much creativity here to love.
