I knew there was something i remembered from the Odyssey and I'm glad I got to see it here in my reaction to the third song from this saga in Epic: The Musical, Remember Them!!!
Athena: He's still a threat until he' dead! Finish it!! Odysseus: ...how about instead, I give him my personal info, my exact location, and my social security number?
"Hey Polythemus! Here's my passport, my ID, my membership card, my discount ca- ok not that I'm one away from a free drink. Oh, also my business card." Polythemus: *Smile*
I'm glad you caught onto Odysseus letting the cyclops live because Polites wouldn't have wanted to kill him and he's trying to honor his dead friend through his beliefs by putting more mercy into the world than needless killing. "The next time you'd dare kill those offering peace remember who you killed, who you wronged, and what happened next."
"Remember me, I'm your darkest moment, the infamous Odysseus of Ithaca." And there he goes deanoning himself. This will have sooo much consequences... Remember his speech, it's very important.
@@tempestshine5253 While I respect your opinion and even agree with you I also know way too many people who consider it a spoiler if you just mention something is important for later. They say it takes away the enjoyment of finding out yourself that that thing from earlier was important and has long-reaching consequences. That is why I called it spoilers.
I'll be interested to see how Polites dies in the musical. Here it shows him tossing his sword aside, assisting his friends without violence, and just kind of getting caught in the crossfire. I'm curious as to whether Jorge will go full pacifist with Polites like this or do something else...either way, it's gonna be heartbreaking!
The last bit where Odysseus says who is and where? Also shows that history is told by the winners. When we met we led with peace.....ummmm you went into his home and killed his favourite sheep.
well, they didnt know that sheep had owner, and they hadnt met yet at that moment. When they met, Odysseus first intention was indeed to resolve conflict, if only for the sake of him and his men
@@danylonazarov This exactly. Wild sheep are endemic to the mediterranean area, and from the very start there had been talk about finding somewhere to hunt for food - you don't shoot an animal you think is domesticated with a bow and arrow to catch and kill it.
Just cause i love hurting peoples souls this song is made worse by the fact that iin greek belief if you are not properly burried with coins for the ferry then you will not get into the afterlife sooo all those getting remembered are gonna be stuck for very long time i think in the river from what i recall
