Yep. This definitely works. If the opponent is good, it will not be comfortable, may still grind your arm, but it's better than getting a broken arm.

I would be really good in BJJ, cause I am never flat. This is hardwired to my brain because each time I try going flat during sleep my fiancee elbows me in the ribs because I start snoring when on my back.

The first time I was shown an armbar, I was told that I need to have the thumb pointed up for it to work. The first defenses I was shown involved moving the thumb away from up.

I am sure this guy is great but damn is he long-winded

Cool concept. Im not expert, not even close but I actually do something similar when opponent tries kimura from guard. I simply turn my wrist so its palm up and magically the kimura is no longer there

I never thought about this; I'm gonna try it this week.

@@aeklant Try it its funny sometime. Ill purposely put my hand on the mat while in closed guard so people can go for it just to watch it dissolve before their eyes.

Would you teach other submission escapes such as triangle escape in the future, sir?
@DefensiveBJJ
@DefensiveBJJ 5 лет назад
I can when they are more thought out they way the armbar is.
@rollinOnCode
@rollinOnCode 3 года назад
i think there are already some stacking and standing/posturing triangle defenses. but i would love more of priits flavor on it

This works for sure,lately I have escaped armbars from every belt color with this same movement . I start rounds in almost completed armbar and get out everytime! Reverse Hitchhiker FTW!

Wow, been doing the Jeeeetz for a long time, have always been wondering about something like this. Is there an angle where the standard armbar from the top might not work to the point of possible escape ? Now I have an answer.
