hey how come the lift makes a banging noise when it goes down to LD floor and when it goes up to R1 why does it do the same thing??

yes this is the same mall that the elevator failed. It was a different lift...

Why do freight elevators look older than passenger elevators?

It’s most likely because freight elevators are usually maintained and modernized less than normal passenger elevators. Also, due to a lack of security within the usual locations of these elevators (service corridors in malls), allowing more vandalism to happen.

The elevator he got stuck in was near Nordstrom. This elevator is next to Neiman Marcus which is on the complete opposite side f the mall

I tried the Dover trick on a hydraulic elevator once. It didn’t work unfortunately.
