@@desmondworrier371 That literally doesn't make any sense, what you said. I think you meant "Charing Cross is closed for the Jubilee Line" Where's autocorrect when it's actually needed am I right?
The Jubilee Line doesn't go to Charing Cross anymore because it now goes to Stratford as it was extended from Green Park. The line was supposed to be extended from Charing Cross to Lewisham and Dartford but somehow; the funding wasn't right, so agreements were made to bring the Jubilee Line to Stratford. It would still been much nicer if they kept the Jubilee Line's charing cross branch line and extended it from there to Lewisham station. TFL are already planning to extend the Bakerloo Line to Lewisham railway station from Elephant & Castle so people will benefit easily to Central London.
Adding to that the trains will be rerouted just after Lambeth North into new tunnels which means that Elephant and Castle gets a new tube station to replace the present one.
@@Cowman9791 Thatcher should’ve let them continue on with it. They couldn’t extend it out from Charing Cross because of the funding. So they extended the line out from Green Park to Stratford.
I think you will find that "somehow; the funding wasn't right" was more of a case of the previous national government not wanting to invest in providing better transport for the people of Lewisham... ...and a later government being happy to abandon the end of the truncated Fleet Line, and invest money so that Westminster, and the areas around North Greenwich and London Docklands, where luxury flats were being built could get what the people of Lewisham had been denied. The Jubilee Line Extension was built to a much higher standard than the old Fleet Line was, so it's a lot better than we would have had, if the original government had not blocked the people of South East London from getting a railway. I look forward to seeing how awesome the Bakerloo Line Extension is going to be, when it finally opens. Finally Lewisham is going to get what it should have had before, and I suspect that it will be far better than the original Fleet Line plan.
I was at Willesden Green a couple days ago and the train was going towards Stanmore and the front said Charing Cross and before the doors shut it the train said ‘this train terminates at CHARING CROSS’ and I didn’t film it and it was so annoying that i didn’t film
It says Charing Cross probably because they forgot to change the terminating station. Trains used to terminate at Charing Cross before the extension to Stratford.
they actually have a celia drummond announcement of Charing Cross on the system, so in 2005 when they were recorded it was entirely possible that they make still go their o-o
Charing cross for the jubilee line may be disused but its still used by drivers to turn around trains kinda like the kennington loop so its not completley useless
It probably was a mistake because you see the 1996 stock did go to Charing Cross Station because it closed on the Jubilee line in 1999 and these trains are from 1996
Bakerloo and Northern Line talking* Jubilee:hey can i join the Charing Cross Talk Bakerloo:no you dont go there Victoria:lol Circle and Distric:hey we can make the Westminster Talk Jubilee:no (makes the sign Charing Cross) Bakerloo:Jubilee what you doing oh no- Jubilee fastly goes to Charing Cross* The Charing Cross Movie Credits to:Jubilee Camera man Central and Piccadilly SOMEONE DO PART 2 OF THE MOVIE
A phew mins later they arrived at westminster but surprisingly it also said charing cross the trains were confused, and also the Victoria didn't to to westminster plus the bakerloo line
Yeah, the former destination was Charing Cross from 1979, and in 1999 the extension was built to Stratford. Shame though, I'm sure it could still serve Charing Cross once every 7 - 8 minutes in the timetable.
@@Bungle2010 It wouldn't by much though really would it - Stratford train at 10:50, Charing Cross train at 10:52, Charing Cross train at 10:54, then another Charing Cross train at 10:56 or 10:57... Pretty sure eastbound trains terminate at North Greenwich every 10 - 15 minutes anyway...
@@Bungle2010 Trains run to Stratford every 2 - 3 minutes, but when one terminates at North Greenwich, that means there's a 4-minute gap between the one in front of the NG one and the one behind the NG one. Some even terminate at West Ham. Would just save people coming from the Northbound stations having to change at Baker Street onto the Bakerloo, which is a bit of a temperamental line at times. I love the tube, and I love the Bakerloo, but you can't deny the fact there's a signal failure at Queen's Park or further north quite often.
@@Bungle2010 It's really nowhere near half though is it - you have to remember that there are alternate 3-minute gaps between the Stratford trains. Well considering the Jubilee no longer terminates at Charing Cross, people would have to change onto the Bakerloo at Baker Street in order to get to Charing Cross...? Don't think people will want to be walking 15 minutes from Green Park to get to Charing Cross, or even 10 minutes from Westminster.
...I said every 7 - 8 minutes, that's not every other service - even every 10 minutes would work. I literally said that it would save a 9 minute walk from Westminster or a 15 minute walk from Green Park - how do *you* know that people don't find it an inconvenience walking from either of those two stations? The logical thing to do would be to change onto the Bakerloo at Baker Street if Charing Cross is your nearest station for work or wherever you're going...surely?
It’s still entirely possible to make the jubilee line go from green park to Charing cross and still be able to go to Stratford. You’d just have to forget about Westminster Station.
Maybe do like the same with the northern line where they had to different line segments, the bank and Charing Cross branches, but with jubilee so you would have the JLE and JL line branches
Yeah like everytime you lean on the doors the motor will sound a bit odd and it would skid the jubilee lines 1996 stock needs replacing infact the whole line needs to be upgraded
Door interlock illuminated to show all doors are closed and train can proceed otherwise the train will not move until all doors are closed and clear of of any obstructions in the door, if the door cantot be closed then the door must be isolated and closed manually and labeled out of use
