Hi Tim, Thanks so much for posting your videos. I just finished cleaning my carb. I have a 2009 Vespa S150. Our carbs were a little different, but I followed along and it started on the first try! :) Hey, keep the videos coming! THX
ive got coolant now coming out the spark plug hole and the bottom of the airbox ..oh no!!!i think whats happened is the last guy who owned the scooter as a toker so forgot about topping up coolant regularly and cooked the gaskets .do you have to take the whole engine out?
Hey Tim, thank you for the videos, I have a question? I have a 2004 Vespa ET 150. when I twist the throttle my engine stalls, it's frustrating any suggestions? Thanks Tim
Hi Tim, I cleaned the carb as per your video but after I fitted everything back together I just can't get it to start. It seems like the fuel line is dry and twisting the throttle doesn't prime it.. any ideas? Thanks, Josh.
Couple of ideas , see if the fuel line is indeed dry , pull that bad boy off and see if there is any fuel flowing when you crank the motor . If no fuel is flowing I would bet a couple pennies the fuel petcock vacuum line is not connected , it will be a small rubber line that comes from the fuel tank to the side of the carburetor , make for sure its connected , with out that there can be no fuel flow ! ( check the line on both ends ! it could have been pulled loose at the tank side in all the fun of carb removal ! )
Sorry just rebuilt a Yamaha Vino carb and getting things mixed up , The petcock vacuum line attaches to the intake manifold just forward of the carb , you will two vacuum lines one going left , one right , if i recall correctly the left one is the one your looking for , make sure its on good there , and good on the other end . If those are on good and tight , and no fuel is flowing , check to make sure the carb is all the way on the intake side and the hose going down to the air filter , any leaks here will reduce the vacuum and may possibly stop the flow of gas ( and what ever you do , dont be tempted to put a after market air filter on this bike !! )
Hey Tim! Your vids have helped my a lot. If you have a minute can you take a look at an issue I'm having? It seems there's a petcock fuel tap issue and I just want to confirm before I order a replacement. Thanks. v=wHJ71yWQG2M modernvespa post2044665
+Travis Thurston, ND Looking at your description , with fuel in the vacuum line and air in the fuel , I would almost bet a dollar there is a puncture in the diaphragm in your petcock . I sure do hate vacuum petcocks !
