@@HyperfixatationInc Watch VSauce episode on what makes things creepy. Basically if the human brain cannot tell whether something is safe or dangerous it triggers the creepy response. Fascinating video and totally explains why clowns are messed up.

LOL, horror is what happens to someone on a ship or a forward base (anywhere with a limited supply of potable water) when they get caught wasting water by letting the shower heat up, the last thing they hear before the flurry of punches and kicks ruins their day proper is "fuckin' Elvis takin' a Hollywood shower!".

Jack Nicholson was an Air Force Firefighter. Kubrick had a hard time building the scene with the axe swings because Jack kept cutting down the door in like three swings.

My house has ghosts, didn’t know it till my 60 pound hound would freak out and try to crawl into my lap. Asked a friend who is a ghost hunter bring some equipment to measure energy around the house, thinking it was a frequency bothering the dog. But no, there were voices having conversations with us that we only heard on the recordings afterward. By the way, one told us his name is Charles. 🤣

I remember when I was a kid and my mom and I watched Blair Witch and she couldn't stop laughing. When I asked her why, she said "they are going in circles, but following the river, what are they following, a MOAT?" COMPLETELY killed the movie for me.

I remember finding a book about the behind the scenes details of a lot of classic horror movies and one for Blair Witch was that one of the two “directors” had extensive survival training so he snuck around to fuck with the actors, who had been selected through improv tryouts, and they knew things like the story and the stick figures were fake but everything else that happened to them was unscripted. Even the one guy disappearing in the middle of the night was because the directors told him to sneak out earlier that day while other two were left to legitimately look for him. I think the only relatively scripted part of the movie was the ending in the house
