I don't have the Vevor meat slicer but I do have another brand and they are a very handy piece of equipment to have as you know. Great video on how to use it.

Love your presentation! I currently have the Nesco Food Slicer but the Vevor appears to be better made than the one I have. It's definitely more commercially built. I may consider getting this one. Thanks KJ🥰

Thank you so much Kiki! This is my first experience with the food slicer outside of using one for a brief time when I was a kid working fast food. Definitely seems pretty commercially built and super heavy duty. If you do get one I hope it meets your needs and that you enjoy it.

@@TheFoodExperience I would just hate having to break it all down just to clean it after each use. A lot of work to say the least. 😐

I have recently bought the 10” meat slicer and used it to cut a huge boneless ham super thin. But I had no idea how to clean the blade or use the sharpener. Thank you!

Nice product. Tip - the fat can be used in place of oil or butter when cooking meat.
@TheFoodExperience

Thanks for the tip and yeah I do use fat instead of oil or butter when cooking certain things. In fact that's kind of what I'll be doing today when I make chili and will use the bacon fat to saute the onions, garlic and peppers.

My Vevor 10 inch Meat Slicer, came with a blade that had 2 extra threaded holes in the blade, the set screw in the back that keeps your back plate from bending while using the slicer (it's located at the top in the back), is a perfect fit to screw into in either hole, this way you can hold and remove the blade from the machine. Also, I use my Nitrile rubber gloves over my cut resistant gloves, that way I can hold the blade under the water when cleaning it, and not get your cut resistant gloves wet (I put my index and middle fingers in the middle hole while cleaning and rinsing the blade). Good video. I also like to use the Zero setting for my deli meats, I do like them thin. You did not mention that if you put the cutting setting all the way to the left (less than Zero) it helps protect you from accidental cuts, because the blade is now lower then the cutting surface.

I wish mine came with two extra threaded holes. Perhaps there are different versions of the device floating around. Either case I really love this thing. That's a good idea in regards to the nitrile rubber gloves. I didn't know why I didn't do that. Makes total sense and I always have those on hand. I wasn't aware of what to do with the below zero setting. It sure would have been nicer if they had a better manual with the device. Thank you so much for your comment, totally appreciate it.

Never will forget slicing onionas on a meat slicer when I worked out at a country club back in '94. Took a pretty good size chunk of skin off of my thumb.

Great review. The only thing missing was something about the evenness of the slices. Next one I buy will be this one. Thanks.

Great review Andy! It is very versatile for sure. (Side note: If you like, or have tried, French Onion Soup, this would make it super easy) Tasty dish for sure.

Thank you so much Brad! Definitely a very versatile machine. I'm not much of a soup fan to be honest. Good idea though.

Just an thought, that square hole could probably fit a extension for a ratchet to hold the hub steady.
@TheFoodExperience
@TheFoodExperience 5 месяцев назад
I tried actually putting a wrench in there to see if it would hold it still and it still rotated. I'll have to look into it further but great idea though for sure.

A steel blade should allow a hefty magnet to hold it in place. Carrying should be much safer.

Use a magnet to manipulate the blade. 50lb pull magnet.

There are two holes in the face of the blade that are threaded if you use one of the adjustment knobs from the back and thread it into the face of your blade when you unscrew your screws the adjustment novel hold the blade so your hands do not have to come in contact with the edge
@TheFoodExperience
@TheFoodExperience 4 месяца назад
There are no holes in the face of the blade other than the three holes which occupy the hex screws. I sure wish there was an additional hole because it certainly would make this operation easier when removing the blade. Although I found that once I get one screw loose then I do what you are saying and use one of the adjustment knobs from the back to thread it into the face to stop the blade from turning. Really wish they would have thought ahead and added an extra hole. Perhaps there are different versions of this that come with different amounts of holes on the face of the blade, perhaps was one extra hole.

I am very new to using my Vevor slicer. I have used it a couple of times with no problem, but today when I attempted to use it the blade won't turn when I push the start button. It will just hum like it's in a bind?Any ideas????? jh

I am honestly not sure why that's happening. I'm not familiar enough with all the parts to help assist. Sorry about that. I would recommend contacting their support on the website.

The xtra handle on the back screws into the blade for handling!
@TheFoodExperience
@TheFoodExperience 3 месяца назад
I'll have to take the look to see if I have an extra handle on the back. I know there's an extra bolt with a knob. Maybe that's what you mean. Either case though my problem isn't with handling the blade. The issue I have is loosening the first screw without the blade wanting to spin around and around.

can you help me solve my vevor meat slicer beause i can’t slice at level 0-1-2-3 only can slice at level 4-5 and up…
@TheFoodExperience
@TheFoodExperience 4 месяца назад
I'm honestly not sure why that would be. From the examples you could see I ran it at zero and various other thicknesses. What happens when you try to run it at the lower numbers? Also what are you slicing? If it is meat you may want to chill it first in the freezer for like a half hour to 45 minutes.

You should inform your viewers that VEVOR ( Chinese company ) does not not support their product after warranty, if for any reason such as normal ware and tear or in need to change a blade or one of your sharpening stone or any thing else, you will not be able to purchase them, you will have to purchase a brand new slicer... Think about it prior to purchase...
@TheFoodExperience
@TheFoodExperience 3 месяца назад
A lot of companies don't support their products after the warranty. That's why the warranty has a certain period of time. Most stuff is made in China these days. It should be of no big surprise to most folks.
