Vevor sent me one of their portable 2 burner forges. Lets see how it goes! Link to forge amzn.to/3ZUy987 Link to Rigidizer www.amazon.com/dp/B08S5SY61X?...
I have the stainless (no burning paint) version of that forge I bought from Vevor about a year ago. I recommend fire brick to block off part of both front and back openings to maintain heat, and reduce fuel consumption. I also used rigidizer from Mr. Volcano, and it would be a nice thing if Vevor added it to the kit. Overall, I'd say that it can't be beat for the price. Thanks for your honest review, Brandon!
Just purchased this forge and am fairly impressed with it. It did not come with rigidizer or refractory so I had to source that myself. I was finally able to fire the forge for the first time today and allow the refractory to cure. I was unable to forge tonight unfortunately but the 3/8 round stock I had got to working temperature in about 20 seconds. Overall it’s a great beginner forge as stated, my only concern is the noise possibly annoying the neighbors.
you know Brandon vevor is turning into the sears roebuck of the 1900's!! now if they'd just up the quality a bit and get a descent hand cranked forge blower!!!
..Great review sir. i my give them a look ifin i need a double burner. i got a Mr Volcano single burner and it suits my needs. i'm more of a coal guy...
Definitely been looking into a small forge to see if I was really interested in getting to blacksmithing. How often do you do classes and how much are ur classes iam in Southwestern Virginia.
I am planning on 8 classes next year in Granville TN. If there is enough interest I can see about doing a 2 or 3 day class. Granville isn't a bad spot to spend a couple of days! Shoot me an email to get on the class mailing list, VooDooForgeBusiness@gmail.com Thanks for the interest and thanks for watching!
That depends on a lot. With my particular setup, the hero volcano forge running at around 10 psi a 20lb tank lasts around 10 to 15 hours. You can do a lot in 10 to 15 hours if your good.
I have a self made coal forge. Never used gas. So you just hook up one propane tank and nothing else (oxygen maybe?) and it runs fine like that? Does that get hot enough to weld with?
Oh god what a trash burners ,they put holes(worst thing you can do it obstructs the air flow) ! What you want is a 3-4 long at least 10mm wide slots with all the edges beveled to a 45°.Also burners mounted at 90° in a forge is a waist of potential heat and they will get damaged from heat fast ,what you want is a 80° tilt to left or right so that flame can swirl it doesnt matter at what side.
@@Master...deBaterYea you could make a 100$ version, wont be a stainless steel variant but with iron water pipe its a realistic price for finished product.
