How do we know if it's truly their leader or just another command pylon relaying their true commands?

Well in Beyond Light they added a new type of unit: The Wyverns (I hate those MF with all my light)

What lore piece says that? Are wyverns the first vex actual combat unit?

@@unabalazura according to Calus, all the Vex we've encountered up until the point before Beyond Light are just workers and farmers. Wyvern is the first combat frame they've ever used against us, and there are many more.

So, basically Saint-14 going into the Infinite Forest all those years could be seen as a pro-longed school shooting? All jokes aside though, no offense intended and we do apologize for any if implied. But it is definitely true and I wholeheartedly believe we have yet to see the true powers of the Vex. More so than the true power of a united Fallen front. The battle of twilight gap and six fronts were just a few of the houses, imagine if they were all to unite.

@@Moffee only reason I'm particularly intrigued is the Hezen Protective is so heavily involved with the Vault of Glass. Who knows?

I think the Hezen collective in its entirety is itself interesting, simply because they're the only ones that I know of, that divided itself into two, the Corrective and the Protective, with two separate functions, yet with the same long term goal. Yet they have also been alleged to be the "heretic" collective due to their reluctance to worship the Black Heart. At least according to the Grimoire as of now. What do you think, since you mentioned the Protective particularly.

Hey, I’ve seen in vog that there’s multiple things hinting at the Hezen lords, however I can’t find any lore on them so mind telling me who and what they are?

Next seasons seems to be a fallen/vex season, probably about fallen getting vex technology or something.

Let's not forget their initial invasion of Oryx's High War Ascendant Realm as well, there was little to no details as to what was used there, but it was mentioned that they built frames specifically to strive in that world.

You mean Wyverns? Yeah, but also I like the concept of them not here to conquer or colonize, but to assimilate any and all in existence. It frightens me to think of what they would consider war machines, rather than scouts or builders.

@@CrusadingJello they really are. 'the Patterns Don't act Directly.' - a Vex agent of a recreation of a 'Maya', for example of the scale of these Abstract 'patterns'' capability and reach. Not even taking us (at least those below the [Traveler]'s power, etc) Seriously, playing the Long game, etc. (well that's what it is to them when 'Time' is effortlessly just a tool for them to always rewind and observe until they get those Timelines, alternative verses right. all of it relative to them).

Adding to this because I’m a vex lore nerd. The Sol collective is actually cut off of the rest of the vex and is the smallest group. If we ever had to fight the main vex horde we wouldn’t stand a chance.

Indeed, it's a frightening revelation to know that these aren't the combat units, but mere construction, utility, recon, or even research units, all the more I'm looking towards being pitted against the full might of the Vex along with the Hive. I doubt either have shown us even a fraction of their full might.

@@Raze394 Visually I'd say the differences range between subtle and obvious though, not for all of the Sols, but some.

The Vex are definitely one of the more well defined or constructed races in the game, I'm really interested in seeing what other Collectives are out there, the potential is literally infinite.

@@Moffee The Sol Divisive were the first final enemies we faced at the end of D1's campaign. They deserve the spotlight as the dark vex faction. So much potential for cool stuff for them.

Style, do you mean aesthetics?

You're right about that, as far as we know, the current Vex frames aren't combat-focused. I doubt they'd go crazy with planet-sized Vex. Not saying it's impossible, but impractical for maintaining and harvesting the resources required to maintain such an inconceivable operation.

If you love the precursor vex, I highly recommend you check out Destiny 1. The enemy designs are way better.

How can we be 100% certain that those viral monstrosities have no 'off switch' though? It could be as complex as eliminating several key figures in their hierarchy, or as simple as an 'off switch' or 'unplugging the power', how close would we even be to identifying these requirements?

Yes. though this collective race may as well be having a no 'off switch' or a winning future kind of Hostile enemy for those of us having no [Paracausal] defense to break their nature. any existing race or being for that matter in our similar state, yeah.... they are 'favored' by the bigger Tetrahedral *[Enemy]* back in the many [Flower Games] that the Two have engaged in after all. so that much is a slight achievement back with the Pattern's inevitable nature for having the *[Darkness]* taking a liking in their way of spreading throughout an existence.

Truth be told, a lot of the Vex units have replaced their weaponry moving from D1 to D2. But yeah, with the introduction of the Wyvern, we're waiting to see if other Vex infantry will be introduced before re-visiting the topic.

Would you say that liking the vex would be somewhat "vexxing"?

a Reminder: Every frame unit of the Patterns' that you only-see-in-front-of-you faced is just the same collective that spans across those Radiolarian substrates of theirs. there is no traditional 'top boss' among the Patterns for it is--in the end--just a single Mind across infinite units that they keep spawning in order to Physically interact with the verses that they keep expanding on.

@@edisonlaw934 there is no definitive ''First' Vex'. they are One. we might as well say 'what is the First Physical form of the Patterns' instead then. but then again, instead of Radiolaria, the First substrate that they have chosen to better Physically interact with the current universe of Destiny's instead. Which is it instead, that we should wonder. Black holes? comets? mathematical structures for the more informational substrate-free Patterns/Vex that they have first used as some form of 'body' (even if it is abstract).

@@Moffee Back when Menagerie was in the game, Calus said that the Vex we were currently facing were more like Architects than real soldiers, but there will be a day when the Vex will send actual soldiers. This to me predicts what we are seeing with the Wyvern. I believe that the Wyvern is just the start of a new line of Vex units more suited for combat. Stronger and more powerful than the standard Vex units.

@@Moffee First you mixed minds up for gate lords and called them ultra's, for example The - Genesis Mind, Panoptes Infinite Mind, Consecrated Mind, Sanctified Mind and Undying Mind are all Hive Minds that control and lead lesser Vex and will usually be controlling something, Gate lords on the other hand usually Gaurde Vex portals or Gates Also the Vex arrived in our solar system the day Clovis Bray built and opened A Vex gateway to a star system completely controlled by the vex. Sol Imments came from the dark future to the past to make sure there future takes place Sol Primeval came from the past to the future to effect themselves and present day. The Sol Divisive was the Very First Vex Born in the Garden, but unlike there fellow Vex they Never Left...ps you also forgot to talk about everyone's favorite Vex supplicants. Sol Collective is the Modern day Vex created "possibly" from Io who exists in our present time line (Pyramidion on Io has birthing pools) Oh and since beyond light there's now Vex Wyverns

The opening of the Vex portal by Clovis Bray down in the Glassway? What do you mean by the Sol Primeval came from the past to effect themselves? As for the Vex supplicants, I have a rather crude nickname for them, which I shan't include here, lol. Which grimoire or Codex entry states that the Sol Collective was created from Io, I mean if I recall correctly, they are the main collective that we're fighting, simply because they're a consolidation of all previous collective and are the major Vex offensive/or defensive in the solar system, and I believe it's mentioned they're also the ones responsible for turning Nessus into a machine world as well. Could you refer me to some grimoires about them? As for the Vex Wyverns, we didn't want to include them just yet, seeing as how Wyverns seems to be sort of an entryway to more frightening Vex combat units, which, up until now, hasn't been revealed yet either. Really appreciate the feedback, we'll definitely be working forward with this info.

@@Moffee this is what I mean when I said "The Sol Primeval came from the past effect themselves and present day". Unfortunately there is no grimoire card that describes which time line or time the Sol Primeval where created in or came from but it is shown in game many times that the Sol Primeval existed before mercury was turned into the Infinite Forest. Also In game other Vex see other Sol Primeval as ancient, take for instance the Strike "The Inverted Spire" were you are tricked into thinking the cabal are drilling into a Vex vault without the Vex realizing. but instead if you Play "The Inverted Spire" when it's the nightfall the ordeal that week you'll realize that the Vex were letting the cabal drill into nessus to uncover not a Vault but a Vex Tomb that contained the long forgotten "Modular Mind"...which if you didn't know the Modular Mind is apart of the Sol Primeval, there's a lot more I wish I could talk about but unfortunately the curse of osiris DLC is no longer in game. There was more lore about the Sol Primeval in that Update, Btw sorry for saying "The Sol Primeval came from the past to effect themselves and present day" I really just ment they are ancient Vex that only effect present day if there is something that threatens their timeline they are from

This is definitely interesting lore to cover, but as an introductory video, we didn't want to get too much into details just yet, but definitely thanks for the info, and we'll look into doing a deep dive on the different vex collectives in the coming future.
