Got one a month ago, now it's too cold and too dangerous on the road but I can't wait to get back on the bike, it's a blast! In the meantime I guess I will have to watch RU-vid movies like this so thx :-)

No worries, I'm really missing the nice weather too. She's in a garage now until March I guess. I'll have to do a proper review when spring comes!

@@StormTEC What are your thoughts on valve checking?
@StormTEC
@StormTEC Год назад
@@GermanJobbies it will be expensive So most owners put it off. And a lot of people in the owners club get theirs done at 60,000 miles with No valves out of spec. That's Honda for you

with the centre stand problem try pushing down more on the stand with right foot then ease up bike by pulling on left handlebar its a knack but once you've got it its easy. great vid btw cant wait to get mine through MOT until then its videos on youtube 😆
@StormTEC
@StormTEC Год назад
Yeah I think I got the trick now, it's a lot easier if you pull up on the rear passenger footrest

I passed my test a few months ago and have been offered a 2002 immaculate one from a lad from work at a really good price. I'm I being daft going for this for a first bike? Haven't been on a bike in months and I was training on a 650 kawasaki. Love the sound of this just sh1ting it when I first get on it. It's the duel braking that I'm worried about mainly, how do you do low speeds if the front brake comes on as well?? Thanks, great video.
@StormTEC
@StormTEC Год назад
If you use the rear brake it will only apply a very low amount of the front, so low speed stuff will all be the same. The main difference you will notice with the combined brakes is that the bike will be nice and stable when braking at higher speeds. It will be faster and heavier than the 650, so I would take it easy especially for corners and slowly build up skill there. Below VTEC line this bike is very easy to ride. And the other thing is the weight, try not to get it in awkward positions like when parking, or facing downhill! haha Honestly probably a great first bike, but really don't get carried away for corners as a beginner, that's where all the crashes for all beginners happen. If you overcook the entry, you can keep leaning until the pegs scrape the floor. I would also suggest not going above 3rd gear for B roads for a few months. Best bike you'll have, Stay safe ;)

@@StormTEC agreed, to my understanding the VTEC cuts 2 cylinders out at low rpm's ? I don't think mine does but 3500 rpm's and below there's not much pull as soon as it hits 3500 it's like a rocket 🚀
@fkingride.5500
@fkingride.5500 Год назад
@@StormTEC they also moved away from the gear driven cams i think? mine is gear driven cams such a unique sounding bike, drop a sub if you get a chance pal would be appreciated
@StormTEC
@StormTEC Год назад
@@fkingride.5500 As far as I understand it, it just adjusts how much the cams open the valves after 6500RPM so more air gets in, hence VTEC, Variable Valve Timing. I think it's different in cars though. And my Toyota Celica has something similar with it's VVTLi - engine was made by Yamaha for that car. Yeah if Honda made a new VFR that had less weight, vtec and gear driven cams that would be amazing. Subbed!

Like your calm commentaries but Have to say that I was a liltle worryed for you watching this video. I Think you are a tecnically skilled rider, but I my opinion you take cuit a lot of speedy chances on a narrow,, weth curvy crowdet Road with blind curves , gravel, mud, sideways and houses. sorry mate. Thankyou for this video, made me Think a lot. I wish you all the best. Best regards M

Good video mate. I just love this bike. I have a 09 vfr800 with original clip on and oxford heated grips. What bar risers do you have? Because i have a set of helibars i may put on,but i am not shure if the heated grips will come off and on again. Any idea?
@StormTEC
@StormTEC Год назад
Yeah I'm loving this bike too. CNC bar risers 200mm. They go right on the forks and the clip ons clip on top of them basically. Took me 5 minutes with 1 tool. I'm sure you'd be able to move the grips from one bars to another, if anything, take it to a mechanic and they'll blow them off with air in 10 seconds lol I'll be installing heated grips myself soon

Yeah I can imagine, it's a struggle pushing this around with a full tank. Got me thinking about big loaded up tourers. But then my mechanic who's quite small just pushes all the bikes around like they are 125s so I guess it is all confidence and experience!

Yeah lol, I did figure out, you have to grab and pull up on the rear passenger footrest, it's the only way it will go on properly. But it still takes some muscle.
